Bonus Salary Cap

Dear NFL
We are seeing the really good teams struggling with the salary cap and I would like to suggest giving teams a bonus cap based on the amount of prime time games a team plays. The NFL has done a great job promoting the sport, but that promotion depends on the stars playing in prime time. It is not fair to the players that the audience is focused on. They deserve a bigger share of the pie. It is also unfair to the teams that the league is promoting. For example, my team. the 49ers, is playing 6 prime time games. So because they are stuck with the same cap, they are subject to losing players because of the fixed salary cap. We know the purpose of the cap is parity, but it short changes the good teams and causes the teams to be broken up. This is unfair to the team, the players and their fans. The question that must be asked is where do dynasties fit into the scheme. The great teams are ones that stay together and these are the ones the people want to watch. Giving the teams extra cap for each prime time game they play is a way for the teams to keep their stars and protect their dynasties. It is about the money and it is obvious that the salary cap hurts the players that the NFL is counting on for promoting the game. There should be a way to modify the cap to allow good teams to pay their players what they deserve without forcing them to change teams.
Let me know what Roger says.
