Imagine thinking Eagles fans aren't going to send shots at the 49ers if they win the SB. I can already see it now: "LMAO WE ARE THE BEST!! f**k THE NINERS THEY COULDN"T DO WHAT DID LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO."
Chiefs fans literally don't think about us.
Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuk the eagles and their fanbase

it was a fun game. in the end the flag gave KC a kneeldown situation. otherwise hurts would have had a shot to win the super bowl

It's somewhat poetic then for this Super Bowl to be a rematch between teams whose previous meeting was (in part) determined by an absolutely horrible call going the Chiefs way. :)

This is kinda my thinking, at least as NFC teams go.
KC winning adds to their dynasty legacy, but that legacy is solid no matter what at this point. Why let the Eagles be any more than another stepping stone? I'd rather not have the Eagles be the giant killer in the narrative.
Additionally, threepeat makes it slightly less likely Chiefs win the next year. I know the # of games they will play doesn't change now, but the Chiefs going for their 4th straight just doesn't seem as likely to succeed as the Chiefs going for redemption for losing the SB.
5 SB appearances in 6 years is insane. AFC has failed us all more than the 49ers/Eagles have if KC wins. SF went to 6 of 7 NFC CGs in 1988-1994, but only won 3 of them. Winning 5 in 7 straight appearances for KC (2018-2024) just shows how outmatched the AFC has been in this period. And those two losses were both OT. Think about that - in 7 straight years the Chiefs have led or tied at end of regulation in the AFC CG. The probability of that is extreme.

The 49ers had some really good teams to beat in the NFC Championship game. The Giants, Redskins and Cowboys all had great defenses in that period. The Bears did too for a couple years. Loaded with Pro Bowlers and future HOF guys. They usually went on to win the SB if they beat the 49ers.
KC hasn't faced any defenses like those. The Ravens were the closest but the way the rules are now defenses just can't play the same.

Which is why I blame the AFC teams. Chiefs' competition was overall inferior. The one team that beat them in the AFC since 2019 hasn't even been in the playoffs the last couple years.
