Thats right baby, Typhoon Saloon aka teh San Francisco Saloon. 1165 Garnet Avenue, San Diego, CA
Every game has at least 100 49er fans there. Some games we get over 300. You wont find a more awesome atmosphere anywhere.

That place is pretty cool, the service kinda sucks though. Guess they don't need good service when they know niner fans will show up anyway

To receive one of those packages, you'd have to meet certain criteria and live in a very rural area that's not served by local channels. About 10 years ago, I had a second DirecTv box added to my Dad's account in the Bay Area, then brought the box home to LA where I was living and was able to watch Bay Area local channels. Watching all of the 49er and Giants games only cost me $5.00 per month. But that was before they started "spot beaming". Unfortunately, doing that won't work now.
Hey everybody, i just had a few questions regarding the 49ers on TV. I live in southern cali and during the regular season am subject to whatever marquee game FOX or CBS want to air. I was wondering, are the 49ers always on the local FOX or CBS channels up in the bay area? Also, is there a way to get the bay area local channels in southern California? (through direc tv or whatever). Or would it just be easier to bite the bullet and get Sunday ticket?
Side Note: I really wish Direc TV would have a plan to where you can watch your teams games and their games only. I think a lot more people would purchase sunday ticket if they could watch their teams games only, at a reduced price. I really don't give a rats a$$ about any other team and dont care to be able to watch every NFL game on sunday.Thats why i dont play fantasy football, because all i do is pick 49er players. I refuse to root for another team just because my a player from another team is on my fantasy team.
Technically, there's a way to do this with a Slingbox, but it's kind of a fiasco. You'd have to have a Slingbox connected to someone's STB in the Bay Area, then login online with a computer connected to your own TV as a media server.
I lived in Germany from 2006-2008 and it was actually easier to watch 49er games there than here in Denver where I live now. You could order NFL games on a weekly basis at nfl.com for $29.95 and watch them online. I had my laptop connected to my flatscreen there and the picture quality was very decent. The NFL won't let you order that package with a US based IP address though. I have a UK based service that I use sometimes here in the US which lets me obtain a German or UK IP address so I can watch German TV live through my media server occasionally. At some point this season, I'm going to try to order a weeks games with a German IP address here in Denver and see what happens. I know this option isn't free, but what is, watching a tiny blurry screen on Justin.TV? Every time I go to sports bar to watch a game, I end spending about $25.00 in food and beer anyway.

Just looked at my Directv guide and they are showing it on ABC and NFL at 8pm pacific? WTF?!? Isn't the game at 8pm eastern? I live near South Lake Tahoe and Reno. I have never had this issue before with 49ers games. What gives?

Game is 8pm Eastern - NFLN has the game on at 8pm Pacific for the entire country. Not sure why your local channel has it late tho.
