So.... We beat a bunch of teams in garbage time and were rushing to give the saviour Singletary the HC job.... I'm not saying he doesn't deserve it, but I would atleast take a look at some other canidates as well..
garbage time? hmmm Jets, Bills and STL were not garbage time. I think you need to go back to being an Oakland fan.
Umm we were basically out of the playoff picture when we beat these teams... So yes it was garbage time. Singletary has done the same thing Nolan did.. Win a bunch a meaningless games.
The logic doesn't make sense. Garbage time is if the other teams have nothing to play for and are doggin the game. But for the most part it was reverse. We had NOTHING to play for and under those circumstances Sing got them ready to play. That says a lot to me.
Just like Nolan got them ready to play against Denver in 2006?
There might be similarities, but that doesn't mean its "garbarge time". You can't knock an "Interm Coach" that takes over a team that is basically already out of the playoffs. Nobody had any expectations for him, yet he is basically 4-3 (not counting Seattle). Playing good football a whole half of the season is not "garbage time".
Oaky, you may be right. But you guys are talking semantics. The point is: those games are meaningless. Whatever you call them doesn't matter.

What more could you have wanted from Singletary? Niners were basically out of it when he took over. Do you think the Niners would have had a better second half of the season with a different coach?

Apples and oranges.
Haralson is a pure rusher while Lawson is a coverage sam.
