Wouldn't have mattered. Gore would've just wasted away on horrible Niner teams until Shanahan politely let him leave because he didn't fit the system.

Would've been nice to have him in SF his entire career, but he got to continue his career as a starter for several more years in better situations.

Wish he broke that in a 9er uniform
He needs 249 yards to pass Barry Sanders for 3rd all time. If he averages 50 yards per game the rest of the year he would need 857 next year to pass Payton. Unless he gets hurt #3 is a lock. Second place would be possible if he plays one more year.

COME ON FRANK THE TANK !!!!!
Is it even possible to teach what Frank has? My first answer is no

lol its the TRUTH. Sports isn't always a fairy tale. Its pure selfishness to wish Gore had just rotted here on a bunch of garbage teams rather than get a chance to pursue better opportunities.

No. He's a throwback to the 60's when guys played hurt, never tried to call attention to themselves and gave it everything they had every week. They weren't playing for their next contract like so many do now. When he retires, he will be able to look back and know he did his best. His only regret will probably be not winning a SB. But Barry Sanders didn't either.
