He's not playing this year. He doesn't want to and he's completely committed to his boxing match right now.

Which is more bad ass? Leaving on your own terms, but never really retiring, and instead deciding you want to do something else, like punching people in the face for money, or waiting around to be picked up for likely a garbage team in a garbage role?

I literally posted an interview on the previous page. He had a bunch of teams call him this year. He's not interested right now but wouldn't say no to a Super Bowl run. He's been enjoying time with his family and catching up on things he has missed. So take your disappointment and shove it up your ass because Frank Gore is not giving up. He's moving on to focus on more important things in life than ensuring dudes like you get your rocks off over him playing. There's more to life than this stupid game and your entertainment.

Knowing the chances are most likely very slim, one can still hope. If his body can still handle it (perhaps not playing so far this year has helped), and if he has some ability to help this team (running, but also pass pro as mentioned), it would be great seeing this team sign him for the last couple of games and (hopefully) for the playoffs. He could give this team a shot in the arm at RB and also provide a strong veteran presence in the locker room - a guy that's been there/done that for many years for this team.
With the RB group as is, it's gotten thin with the injuries.
From Frank:
"I'm in the best shape I've ever been in. The most ripped I've ever been. Hopefully, San Francisco makes a run, and my boys tell me to make a run with them."
"They've got a good chance to go on a run. Kyle does a great job getting the offensive guys open. The defensive front is pretty good. And my boy Deebo, he's the real deal. If they make a run to get in the playoffs, they'll be a scary team."

We should sign him.

frank would bring consistency to the position and give top quality pass pro to Jimmy. Which of course is needed since the right side of our line is a turnstile.
He would fit in great for shanny's downfield blocking ideas. he can still make that first guy miss, like he always has. What's not to like?
Dooo eeet.

Great interview with Frank. It covers his whole football life. NFL draft stuff starts around the 35 minute mark and he gives some good info on his time with the 9ers, Harbaugh, Crabtree rallying the team at halftime in the SB, his exit from the team, etc.

Frank the Tank enters the boxing ring tomorrow night. He looks like Mike Tyson with his size and physique.
