Am I trippin?

HOF yes. First ballot no. Unless it's a soft year.

It's a stupid take. Like the one below from Cohn's little buddy.

I don't see how anyone can call themselves a niner fan, and honestly believe that Frank is not a HOF, after witnessing him carry some awful teams against loaded boxes. Unbelievable he managed to get 16,000 yards

It's crazy that people could think that Frank Gore doesn't belong in the hall. I must believe that anyone that thinks he doesn't belong wasn't a 49er fan when Gore was drafted and didn't watch him carry those teams, as you said, for more than half-a-decade. Not only that, but he managed to be a top-5 RB in this league for far longer than most RBs do and in his career accomplished many things that few, if any, other RBs have. Ridiculous. He deserves to be in on the first ballot he's eligible for.

Frank absolutely belongs in the Hall, I do hope that Roger Craig gets in first, but what Frank has done is remarkable in itself.

There are many RB's who dominated the league at the height of their physical prowess, but few managed to still be key contributors when there powers were waning.

Being 3rd on the all time rushing list speaks for itself, get the man a gold jacket.

Ya'll started watching Niner football this millenium I see, since Joe Montana or anyone who watched/played on the Niners in the '80s and '90s would ever think of these guys as JT!!!
Frank is Barry sanders without the speed. Mini sanders

A lot of people really aren't that bright when making Hall of Fame arguments. He is top three all time in yards and that alone should make him an easy call. I believe all of the top 10 running backs are in the Hall of Fame maybe even close to the top 15 running backs of all time in yards.

Not to mention Frank was on such bad teams he was always facing eight man and nine man boxes more so than probably any other running back in the history of the modern era. Of course people will forget that fact because they argue without context.

I call myself a 49ers fan and I don't necessarily think he's a Hall of Famer, which isn't to say he probably won't get in at some point. He was a GREAT Niner and gets all the props in the world for that. And his durability after coming out of college with two ACL tears was pretty remarkable.

To his credit he hung around long enough to put up a lot of yards which will probably end up tipping the argument in his favor somewhere down the line. He was steady and reliable and always gave everything he had but he didn't really do anything that fundamentally changed the game or how the position was viewed.

Gale Sayers only played something like six years and didn't end up with anywhere near the yards that a lot of guys have now but he changed the way people thought about the RB position. Which is what a Hall of Famer should do. Now it seems like it is trending towards being the Hall of the Pretty Good and is more about filling up TV time then actually reserving the honor for the guys who really deserve it.
Gore is a HOFer. He was the only offense we had from 2006-2011. Opposing defenses would put 10 in the box and still couldn't stop him.

Of the 26 RBs currently in the HOF, how many do you believe belong and how many of them do you believe had better careers than Gore?
I doesn't really matter if anyone thinks Gore isn't a HOFer, because he's getting in regardless. The question is whether it will be first ballot.
