So I heard that right next to the stadium they'll have a Santana Row set up. Does that mean at the spot that you enter the stadium we'll be standing in line with "regular" non-game attendees walking around like we're in a mall or something? Or will it be that only ticket holders will have access to that area during game time?

The mall would actually be a ways away from the stadium. It would sit where the golf course is presently....so no worries about non-ticket holders being in the way.

Also, in some ways the stadium will be an extension of the convention center. They will hold paid events on that roof like weddings, etc.
I'm pretty excited, I probably go on line and look at the stadium sketch and live video feed several times a day. I read through most of this thread, you got some pretty sweet seats on the home side, you lucky dog! I'm pretty happy with where I'm at, but I should have moved a little sooner and pushed for the upgrade. Although a case could be made my seats now are better than the ones originally assigned. I'm closer to the 50, but the only difference is I'm no longer right on the aisle (seats 1,2).

viewed from the outside, our new stadium is the ugliest one--hands down. the luxury suites' building looks like the old welfare building in oakland; tired modernistic rectangular glass box, with green hair on its head.
they did nothing artistic with the outer mass of the stadium. it's just a loser.

norman foster knows how to turn mass into art. they should've hired his firm.

Sorry dude, but that link to the Stadium is fugly. That stadium looks like something out of Aliens.

As they say, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder." Personally, I like the simplicity of the new stadium, it fits the landscape. The one you posted looks like something out of Tron.

Liberace would just adore that stadium, but I prefer the simplicity of ours...

I like the tinted green windows, but that's about it.

How much does their stadium cost? It's in Qatar, so they probably have money coming out of their ears. Not only that, but its an artists rendition of the stadium, which is created to make the thing look as nice as possible. The rendition of our stadium looked pretty nice as well.
Also, those windows are supposed to look really cool from the INSIDE, where people will be spending their time (and money). Can you find a picture of another beautiful stadium with windows from top to bottom?

LOL, this thread reminds me of when some of ya knuckleheads were actually criticizing the uniforms (specially the closet Raider fans who think the 49ers would look great in black helmets...), now you love the uniforms (no matter the look) cause they win in those uniforms.

This stadium will also grow on you, and the moment you all either witness a 'special' moment from inside/outside the damn place, you won't even care how it looks, cause it's where winners play.

Trust me, the moment this stadium sustains a Superbowl winning season, it'll be in your hearts & minds forever.

They probably wipe their asses with $100 bills.

‏@RosenbergMerc28m New @49ers stadium construction update: $557 million spent so far. 55% complete. Playing field to be installed in Dec. Seats going in now.

Looked at the live stream and don't see seats going in yet...but I'm guessing this means they are just about to start putting them in. :)

Yeah, I'm pretty happy with my seat location. I was never going to get Club seats (too much $$$) and I actually don't like to be in the lower sections because I can't see the field as well (I was in the 9th row for Jerry Rices last game at the stick and missed alot of the game because I was either blocked by players for the Fox Camera driving up and down the sideline. That was TOs big day...and I didn't see alot of it even tho I had "good" seats).

Given those preferences, section 235 was my very first choice so I was really surprised when my rep called and offered to move me to that section. I never thought I had a chance there.

It will look much better when you add the large banners and the Lombari Trophy silhouettes as shown in many of the renderings.

I also don't understand peoples fascination with the alien vessel looking stadiums. I think they are ugly as hell, will go out of style in 20 minutes, and are being built in places that NEED to go way over the top to attract people. The best part of the new Santa Clara stadium is simply that it's in Santa Clara. It's built wide open because of the weather.

This.

People are bashing the stadium and it isn't even built yet. Let them finish the damn thing before you cry about it.

I'm confused, is the picture in xcfan's photo the side of the Niners stadium? Or is it the Wells Fargo building he was ranting about.
