what sections get teh most shade? k,thx bye

Club seats...we're in C236, at start of game we were barely in the shade, but as game went on and sun moved* behind the towers, shade covered our entire section and seemed most of the home side.

One of the reasons I did not take the tickets they allotted me was that they were on visitor's side towards south end of the stadium and I did not want the sun in my face all game long.

(*yes I know the sun didn't really "move")

Hey, I was in the section right next to ya. :)

Yeah...I did the same. When I relocated I was very conscious of where the shade was going to be.
Did anyone else try to access team store once you were inside the stadium? We were on north end in the Pepsi plaza and there were some glass doors with a sign over it saying to go down the stairs for the store, but doors were locked and stadium "helper lady" told us the store was only accessible from outside the stadium, i.e. before you come through the ticket gates. So if she was correct, not sure why there would be a sign INSIDE the stadium directing you to the store.

The Sun does move relative to the galaxy and universe.

you got me there...stadium is awesome, and even though preseason too bad Niners had to stink the joint up like that, and then the A's cap off the day by getting swept...makes me a saaaad panda.

Not sure I know what you mean.

The only team store I know of (outside of the smaller ones) is the main one in Intel Gate A...and that's well inside the security gates..
Panorama view from upper deck, Section 414, 1/2 way up. Pretty good in my opinion. Yes it's a bit far away, but still a great view of the action. Biggest problem will be the sun in late games. The seat is staring directly at the setting sun in the west.

Cool beans, you've got great seats. 200 level "sideline view" seats are great, much prefer that perspective than down low. One of the reasons I loved my home side UB tix at the Stick was I didn't have to stare into the sun, wasn't going to do it at new stadium up in the 400 deck corner end-zone. Smart move on your part to factor the sun into your decision.

It does wobble relative to us as well
Anybody have standing room only tickets yesterday or did anyone checkout out the SRO sections? I am curious if they assign sections or if you can stand wherever you want

All you guys are overreacting. Once September get's here and fall hits, the temps will dip back down.

Fall doesn't go into effect until late-Oct and sometimes not until November...two home games in Oct but both are 5:30 start times so heat/sun won't be much of an issue. Home game with 1:00 start on Nov 2nd, wouldn't be surprised if it's pretty warm that day, hope not though, love those games with some chill in the air, sooner the better.

Fall goes into effect on September 23rd this year. I don't know where your getting your info from.

That's got to be the one I'm talking about, my guess is maybe the entry into store from that stairwell isn't complete yet or something, just didn't make any sense that there would be NO access to store from inside the stadium....but there were quite a few of us standing there trying to use the doors when usher gave us her access "info." My buddy and I figured she probably had things confused...we're going to Bears game so we'll just check it out then.

Um, I dunno, maybe being a lifelong resident of the Bay Area? I'm well aware of the date of the autumnal equinox, but the date on the calendar doesn't dictate the actual weather we experience.

You maybe talking about the Bay Area's Indian summer that we get in Sept./Oct., but still the weather will start to dip once we get into September and the beginning of the season.

So what was the reason behind the non-symmetrical design? I'm sure the Niners would have no problem selling the extra tickets, seems like a lot of potential seats lost.

Suites form the zipper.

Same reason the Hawks play in a coffin with wonky roof supports; Seismic concerns. A lot of people seem to forget that when bashing the stadium's design.

Who said I was bashing the stadium design? was merely asking a question.

I can relate to the heat thing. 80 is not that hot, but when you are buzzed/drunk/drinking and sitting there baking in the sun around everyone else sitting there baking in the sun, there is a good chance you will get dehydrated. The ones calling EMS are likely the fans who don't go to many ball games, therefore don't understand how sitting in the heat for multiple hours affects your body when intoxicated.

Long story short, if you are sitting in the sun, make sure you drink plenty of water between your beers.

This.

This is why I'm not a fan of summertime outdoor drinking. I know it's like the thing to do based off party pictures and commercials and stuff. But for me it's always uncomfortable and I end up feeling really dehydrated and just out of it like I'm sunburned even if I'm not. I'd rather just have water, gatorades, and lemonade out on hot days and save the drinking for bars, clubs, and dinner. But that's just me.
Every sports stadium in America has hot sunny days, even up here in Milwaukee at Miller Park during Sunday baseball. I dont get why people are acting like it only happens over this new awesome stadium. Besides, I remember ROASTING in the sun in Week 1 last year vs GB at Candlestick. Just have to plan accordingly.
