I can relate to the heat thing. 80 is not that hot, but when you are buzzed/drunk/drinking and sitting there baking in the sun around everyone else sitting there baking in the sun, there is a good chance you will get dehydrated. The ones calling EMS are likely the fans who don't go to many ball games, therefore don't understand how sitting in the heat for multiple hours affects your body when intoxicated.

Long story short, if you are sitting in the sun, make sure you drink plenty of water between your beers.

This.

This is why I'm not a fan of summertime outdoor drinking. I know it's like the thing to do based off party pictures and commercials and stuff. But for me it's always uncomfortable and I end up feeling really dehydrated and just out of it like I'm sunburned even if I'm not. I'd rather just have water, gatorades, and lemonade out on hot days and save the drinking for bars, clubs, and dinner. But that's just me.

Agreed! Except my lemonade would likely have gin or vodka in it... Better hydration than beer!

Every sports stadium in America has hot sunny days, even up here in Milwaukee at Miller Park during Sunday baseball. I dont get why people are acting like it only happens over this new awesome stadium. Besides, I remember ROASTING in the sun in Week 1 last year vs GB at Candlestick. Just have to plan accordingly.

Cover really, really helps. Even though we only have like maybe 4 warm games at Clink a year, after one game baking in the sun, I made sure my season tickets were on the other side (colder in winter) just to be in the shade. It's a lot easier to bundle up than it is to try and get cool (you can only get so naked before you risk getting kicked out) if you're forced to sit in the same place for 3-4 hours straight.

Based off the pictures I'm seeing so far. it looks like there are very little covered areas for people to take shelter who can't handle the heat (or did not prep that well). I'm sure in a month it won't matter and things will be perfect weather wise, but while it's still hot, this may be an issue. They'll most likely put up more temporary shade in the next game.

Santa Clara resident here. We get a bay breeze in the late afternoon that rushes thru Santa Clara towards the south. It happens almost every day, summer or fall. It often drops temps quickly. We have a 1pm game on Nov 2 against the Rams, and a bunch of 1:30pm games. High sun with most of the stadium getting direct sunlight. The cooler weather will be welcomed. The bone-chilling dampness that was Candlestick is a thing of the past.

The 5:30pm Chicago Sept 14 game should be comfortable, with maybe a light jacket being necessary. I just checked the sunset time on Sept 14: its 7:17pm. Seats on the east side of the stadium will be staring right into the setting sun, especially on the upper tiers.

Um, I dunno, maybe being a lifelong resident of the Bay Area? I'm well aware of the date of the autumnal equinox, but the date on the calendar doesn't dictate the actual weather we experience.

You maybe talking about the Bay Area's Indian summer that we get in Sept./Oct., but still the weather will start to dip once we get into September and the beginning of the season.

September is summer...the only "dip" will be negligible, maybe a couple degrees...as any historical chart will show, we don't see signifcant drops until October, and even then we get a number of summer-like days, yes our annual Indian Summer...although I'd prefer an October of nothing but rain.
Anyone sit in the first few rows of sections 134, 135, or 136 and have pics of the view?

Bone-chilling dampness at Niner games? From all my years going to Candlestick actually rare for 49er games, two coldest/wettest I recall were '96 WC game vs Eagles and '97 NFCCG vs Packers...but the coldest games I've ever been to at the Stick were dead of summer Giants night games when the wind would whip and the fog rolled in. And to me the cold is football weather, so I might be in the minority but I really hope we get at least a couple games where a thick jacket, beanie, and gloves are needed.

I get the same feeling and I get the "dies" as I call it when I drink especially when it's hot like that so I don't do it often. It's up to the people at the stadium to be smart enough to protect themselves by drinking plenty of water and either wearing a hat and long sleeves or putting on sun screen early and often. Personally, I don't get the point of going to the game and pounding beers but that's just me. It's hard enough to stay hydrated drinking a lot of water much less chugging beers. Anyways, I don't think Levi's has much cover. Candlestick had some nice big overhangs. Worse for viewing I would think but good for blocking the sun and the rain.

Referring to that article about the people complaining about food orders and not getting them and the lines being so long what do people expect. It's going to take time to get the kinks out and figure out what to expect. Same thing with traffic. First day I'm sure more people were ordering than normal just to try stuff. I'm sure they will adjust accordingly to get the order system faster and to cut down the lines. It's like a trial run... things aren't going to go smoothly; it takes time.

Jed will run down to Costco and buy a couple hundred of those 49er pop-up canopies they have...or maybe just a bunch of giant blue tarps.

Anybody have standing room only tickets yesterday or did anyone checkout out the SRO sections? I am curious if they assign sections or if you can stand wherever you want

They have standing room only sections all over the stadium. Generally behind most sections (ie 300 level? some maybe in 200 and 100 level as well?) from what i can tell.

Has any other season ticket holder not receive their tickets yet? I'm located in Los Angeles and still waiting.
