They didn't protect it at the McCartney concert because it was the last event there ever, so it's in worse shape than Levi's. Any other ideas?
This really sucks because it seems the grass hasn't had a chance to plant completely so the continued use is just going to make it worse but they seem to have the stadium booked for a lot of events other than Niners football. I understand the stadium needed to produce revenue to off-set the cost but this is just a mess.

If you're wondering how long it'll take #49ers field to rebound, that giant brown stain was caused 32 days ago

That's not exactly true. They laid all new sod down in that spot after it was initially damaged.

All part of our plan. The players will get used to the bad field. Opposing teams will come in and be caught by surprise. Brilliant!

I bet they're going to have to re-sod the whole thing before the home opener.

Coach Jim Harbaugh pulled the team off the field after Stevie Johnson slipped while making an out-cut. Conditions too bad to continue.

Grass is an issue at new stadium. Several slips, including by Bruce Ellington and Stevie Johnson. And #49ers practice ended shortly after

#49ers play on Sunday. Levi's field still damaged from private John Legend concert last month, now divots force team to end practice there.
Worth noting #49ers are the first #NFL team to use the particular strain of grass grown for Levi's Stadium. Also used at Padres park.

I thought this grass was supposed to be especially tough. Even when John Legend gives us "all of him."

Until somebody blows out a knee. Crap, what if Kap gets hurt playing on that mess?
Levi's Stadium grass is siding with the Alex Boone camp and holding out for a better contract seeking top 5 grass money. Details to follow.

I'm pissed, man. This shouldn't be happening. They might have to go back and examine why this grass isn't taking hold. They might have to install different type grass, now.

Niners should be top 5 within a few years....start flexing those Silicon Valley muscles, building a foundation when the Super Bowl is hosted (should be in the regular rotation also) and when that $6B project across from Levi's is developed....
