It was put in in April. It should have taken root by now.

Why FieldTurf and not AstroTurf?

Until somebody blows out a knee. Crap, what if Kap gets hurt playing on that mess?
We're the last team that needs anymore injuries especially caused from our own field . Pretty concerning this is happening before the season even starts, then add all the non Niner events Levi's is booked for.

Tongue-in-cheek guys lol. The field is concerning. Surprised we've decided to test out a new type of turf instead of going with what was proven to work in the past.
Supposedly this kind of turf is used at Stanford's practice field. You would think Harbaugh has some familiarity with it. If it were crap, he would know. Hope they figure this all out soon.

If the field is new and turf isn't holding up then why are they allowing this?
"The 49ers are scheduled to return to action at Levi's Stadium on Sunday against the San Diego Chargers. And before the 49ers' regular-season home opener on Sept. 14 against the Chicago Bears, there will be two high-school football games (Aug. 29) and an international soccer match on Sept. 6 matching Mexico vs. Chile."

Probably because Santa Clara owns the stadium and they're trying to capitalize on as much as possible. Doubt they give a s**t if it makes things harder for the 49ers.

The grass will be fine. You know Jim doesn't like anything to happen in front of the public. 49ers fans or not. He probably saw one little piece come up and said "Oh....oh....no, this can't be. We have to move of this field for the 'Sake of the grass."

I thought the York Family owns the stadium? I think Santa Clara just helped fund the stadium. I will have to check.
