Is he talking about the crowd noise or his offensive philosophy?

I'm glad I didn't park in the stadium lots. I parked on some side street on Lafayette st. for free and got home in 10 minutes.
Former Season Tix holder at The Stick

On the sound , I feel it was a combination of the stadium design and the crowd

The stadium design just doesn't amplify the crowd noise well possibly due to the open sides at either end of the boxes.

The crowd is the other issue. It seemed almost like an LA crowd and not SF crowd to me with many of those at the game being "band wagon" niner fans and not having a clue when to cheer and who stood up most of the game not cheering just watching (even when play was at the other end and the big screen gave a better view) just not the same type "fan vibe" we had at The Stick.

More on the stadium:
Sat in sec.107, it was hot until the sun set around the 3rd quarter, I can't imagine how it will be for an actual day game. The facilities under the stands are good plenty of concessions & restrooms and wide walking areas.

We live in Tri-Valley ( Pleasanton-Livermore-Walnut Creek) drove to the Mall and used VTA. Easy parking, $16 for 4 of us to ride round trip. Got to the stadium in about 15-mins. Leaving was easy too, after the game we walked out to the VTA gates right out side the main exit clearly marked with the route lines, lined up and in maybe 15min we boarded the train and we left. The game ended at about 9 or so and we were home at about 10.

Lastly, though I like Train (the band), I think it would have been a nice carry-over in tradition to have had Huey Lewis sing our national anthem for the first home game.

All in All I miss The Stick, it was like your old broken-in shoes or that old recliner sure it was worn and didn't look that good but it was comfortable and had a good winning 49er feel.
I miss the Stick too
My section was loud and rowdy my voice is still messed up from yesterday
I know some peeps are nostalgic for Candlestick and feel the heat much more than they did at Candlestick, but remember one thing....

...the entire season isn't played in the late summer. Won't always be that hot.

I for one LOVE my seats. I can get up for a TV timeout, go to the bathroom and make it back before the commercial is over. I can run and buy a hamburger, pretzel and a drink in a single TV timeout.

I realize not ever stadium experience will be like mine, but I absolutely love it.

yeah, I love where I am sitting too! Really like the view and I don't do well with a lot of sun hitting me so for me the home side 200's are the place to be.
It's not so much the nostalgia as the "feel" , it just didn't have the together magic that was present at the Stick. Maybe (hopefully) it will come soon cause the team sure needs it's 12th man.

Marvin49, you can do that in your mancave, This is football

Did you notice the stadium couldn't even get a good "GO NINERS" together or a LOUD "D_E_F_E_N_C_E"

I guess we just need to give it time since there's no going back

It won't get better. Just check out the club sections during the game, especially the 80k's. About halfway empty. Too busy sipping martinis to sit in their seats and cheer.
Wasn't impressed with the crowd noise at all. Half of my section cheered, the other half sat their like potato. With that said, I'm in the low 200s and it seemed like most of the action was on the other side of the field for a majority of the game. I love the Niners, but I think I'd rather watch it in the comfort of my own home with friends and family. The new stadium is nice, but just has a different feel. I'm dumping my tickets.

Based on where you're sitting, you're probably in the shade for most of the game if not all. However, 80 percent of the stadium sits directly in the sun. Maybe its not a big deal if your from the central valley or weather that's consistently north of 90, but if your from the bay, the heat is obnoxious. For some reason the sun seems far more focused in the stadium and its easily 10 degrees hotter inside than outside the stadium.
I'm sure plenty of fans that sat in traffic for hours after the game (just to get out of the parkinglot) are contemplating selling their tix and watching games from home.

I'm in 224, and I felt like the section was loud and into the game for the most part. I lost my voice at the game as well.
Wouldn't it actually be fitting that the 49ers play on artificial turf? I mean come on, it's f**king Silicon valley, and the stadium looks like a piece of plastic. It's definitely gonna put a heat advantage on teams early into the season, that sun bouncing off that turf, ooh, and you thought being in the stands was bad. We'll beat teams up in a cold, horrible manor like SD did to Seattle, like a Vietnamese prison dungeon.

Seriously, that turf is gonna end some f**king careers, we'll be the demons of the NFL when Russell Wilson gets trapped in a pile of mud on Thanksgiving, laying like Radeo Raheem in the middle of the f**king street, with the Madden Injury cart crashing into one of the Concords, and taking out a whole row of paying customers, and tax payers of the Santa Clara community. Our offense is full of speedy guys, why not let them glide?

That's the point.

It takes me about the same time to go to the bathroom or run to the fridge as it does to buy something or go to the bathroom in the stadium. I couldn't say anything close to that at Candlestick.

If I got out of my seat, I was all but assured I'd be missing something.

All things in good time in terms of the crowd.
