Maiocco asked why it wasn't possible to add something structurally to Levi's Stadium that would give fans some relief from the sun.

"I would say a lot of it stems from the FAA regulations. Structurally, what I would tell you is even if you could do it, it would take years to build to get something up there. To hang something 230 feet or [240] feet from the air, it has to be a structure. It can't be a sunshade or an umbrella or anything along those lines. It actually needs to be substantial."

LOL

Translation...We could make it but it would cost millions and there's no return on investment so let the fans suffer

LOL

A giant umbrella at the 50 wouldn't work? Maybe we should get some of those misters for each seat for those people who can't stand the heat.

Talks about it in the interview. Would cause a slip hazard on the concrete.

Damnit! They've thought of everything! Apparently rain isn't slippery. Maybe we should only hold games on clear sky days.

LOL

He came off as Jed York lite in the interview. Just completely clueless. Claimed they hadn't heard the complaints about the heat until last year. And mentioned that there were some complaints about the KC game in the first year. Even though a fan died of the heat in the first preseason game (before the KC game). Just a complete WTF interview.

I haven't heard it, now I am interested! The heat problem has been written about and discussed for years.

Dead fan? Must be a whiny Californian, they don't call us Forty Whiners for nothing.

whining about roughly 2 games a year that they most likely won't even attend

Guido mentioned they can't do misters either because the water woudn't evaporate quick enough (remember, it's 85 degrees, not 105), would gather on concrete and make it wet, and lead to slip and fall issues/liabilities.

People need to get over it. My hope is that as the team gets better, fans won't care about the heat as much. But when we've been a garbage football team for so long I understand some fans not wanting to bake in the sun to watch a crappy team.

The home opener vs Detroit will be a big tell. I really hope the fans show up. No excuse anymore
Still can't believe they built that Stadium w/o some consideration for shade.

They built this for things besides Football as I recall. Concerts etc - some of which will happen during the heat of the Late Spring/Summer/Early Fall. It gets HOT in that part of the Bay during the Day.

Short sighted to say the least. Hundreds of MILLIONS in Design & Construction, (final cost over a BILLION) and nobody thought about shade.......SMH.

(still wish they had designed it to amplify crowd noise better - Home Field Advantage is due in large part to crowd noise)

Story goes it was originally designed for Candlestick where the weather is not an issue but once Jed moved the team he had already spent the money on the plans so he did what Yorks do and went cheap and used the recycled plan meant for another location.
