How is it that NOBODY ever complains about the sun at Stanford Stadium . Nobody , not the fans , not the students , not the local media , not the national media , not the visiting teams . Stanford is about 12 miles away as the crow flies yet no one ever complains about the very same sun shining down on the games there. Why ? Tougher fans ?
Unbiased media with no ax to grind ? ( pun intended ).
Just wondering .

Because Stanford's stadium is designed to handle it's sunny environment. That's what people on here are failing to understand. Levi's bright red seats and large wall of glass reflecting the sun on the west side, all makes the east side a literal oven.

The seats at Stanford are also red...

The glass on the tower is a factor, but it's not a "make 68 degrees too hot to handle" factor.

The glass on the tower never sees the sun at any point during a game at any time of day. lol
Yo mayo, grass update for you:

The filed looks tight. Can't see a single divot out there.

Have you been to a September 1:00 game in the sun? If not, go. If you don't go, stop being so certain.

I'm not saying a few September games aren't warm. I'm saying November games where the temp is 68 degrees being unbearable is plain silly.

Yes, that is probably true. Aren't the complaints for the early part of the season?

FAA regulations would make this design impossible for Levi's. See: four pillars that double the height of the structure.

What are the actual regulations preventing this out of curiosity?

FAA regulations about the height of structures close to the landing paths of planes going into/out of San Jose International. My understanding is that Levi's current height is right up against the limit.

It can be done. Just like the misters can be done. It would be cost-prohibitive though. Which is why they should just say that instead of lying about it being impossible.

Dude were you there? I was, I am telling you from experience, the stadium felt a lot hotter then 68 degrees. We were all baking in that stadium. That's why the stadium has an issue, it causes us to feel like we are baking in a 68 degree day in Naovember. This has nothing to do about people not being able to handle heat. I can hang out all day in a nice summer 98 degree day, but the way this stadium is designed causes the sun to beat down on you and it is not a comfortable experience. I am obviously not the only person that feels that way, tons of seats were left vacant and the shaded parts of the stadium were crowded.

I don't know, man. Your username indicates there could be a troll job going on, here.

The sun beaming off the tower was messing people up yesterday. You could see the seats clear as the reflection moved across them.

Misters cannot be done, because of moisture gathering on the walkways and creating slip & fall liability. Because the temperature is mid-80s and not actually 100+ the water from the misters won't evaporate sufficiently enough.
