Haven't been. I believe there's free bud and bud light. There's a bunch of TVs, some gold rush girls, some former Niners players, and the roller coaster to ride "Top Gun(not sure what they call it now lol)". If that's what you're looking for, you'll like it. I'd rather tailgate at my own party, but that's me.
This whole heat conversation is silly now because we know that a solution is never going to happen. I am just speaking from my experience, when I go to a sunny day game on the east side of the stadium, it's hot and I find it uncomfortable. I either need to just shell out the extra coin and sit on the west side or just bring a sun hat/niner tank top/sunscreen/water/battery operated hand fan. The one thing I hate is when cameras pan to the east on sunny days and other people say "nobody's going to 49er games!". The truth is it's hot and most of those fans are taking shelter somewhere.

well only 2 day games in the first 10 games this year. So there's that.

Stanford is about 12 miles away as the crow flies yet no one ever complains about the very same sun shining down on the games there. Why ? Tougher fans ?
Unbiased media with no ax to grind ? ( pun intended ).
Just wondering .
Have you been to Levis for a early game on the sunny side in Sept/Oct?

Have you been to any other open air stadium besides levi's and candlestick?
I've been to the cotton bowl in the middle of summer when it was 105 outside. Levis is a different kind of heat on that sunny side....others have mentioned it. It's the way the sun gets focused into the seats off of that tower of glass IMO. Ever see a piece of paper catch fire under a magnifying glass?

Wait, are you saying that the sun beating on the parking lot side of the glass focuses through the field side of the tower and onto the east side seats? Thats the only part of that tower that gets sun. The field side of the tower is in the shade at any point of the day that a game could start. And the field side of the tower is only glass on the very top 1/4 where the press box is and the very bottom behind the top row of seating. All of the suites are open air and there's no glass. So if you could please clarify exactly what you mean.

I'm giving you a theory as to why the sunny side of the stadium is unbearable, but I no longer sit there and pay the premium to sit in the shade. I still think it's bs that the ownership doesn't think it's embarrassing to see it broadcast nationally or seem to care that that side is filmed as empty every year.

Yeah, I understand you're giving a theory. I'm just trying to confirm what exactly your theory is. Are you saying the sun is beating on and reflecting on the east side, or the sun is beating on the west side of the tower and focusing the heat on the east side?

Thanks for the info... Yeah, I would love to do our own tailgate, but we are doing a guys weekend. Some of the homies from out of state are even flying in. I don't think we'll have a grill and all that so just checking options. Staying Saturday and Sunday in San Jose.

Well you know you're more than welcome at our tailgate. We got all the gear. You just need to bring your own food and drank.
