Also, don't wear a beanie and hoodie to a game. You dont look as cool as you think you do. Most of the people that are complaining about the heat are probably wearing a beanie and hoodie
A nice pair of cargo shorts and a 49er T-shirt is all you need.

Even though it was not as hot there the sun was blinding late in the game since it was right in the fans eyes. The point is the stadium is not going to change in the near future if ever. You can chose to stay away or make the best of it. Play it up and give your section a name like Sun Gods or whatever like fans at other stadiums do. I'm sure places like Arrowhead and Mile High have seats in the sun that are hot during the early season too. Then they have to sit in the cold weather in the winter. At least they didn't move to Las Vegas!
Here we go again with ridiculous comparisons. Did Candlestick have PSL's? No.
Refund all PSL's on the East side stands and people will stop complaining.

Understood. So no one goes there in the morning before games? That sun reflecting off the tower doesn't heat up the East side stands? It absolutely does.
I went to a couple games last year, both in December. I sat in the East side for the Titans game and the sun was punishing. It wasn't really "hot" as far as temperature, but it just felt like there was a magnifying glass on me. Don't know how else to explain it. I sat in the West side for the Jaguars game, and it was a totally different experience. Shaded the entire time. Granted it was a bit overcast that day so that helped, but still. And it's obvious from the TV telecasts that a large number of fans on that side have an issue with the sun. I guess we'll see this year when the team is winning games if the fans "tough it out" like so many in here are saying they should.
And I'm curious, for those who are saying to tough it out - have any of you sat in the East side seats? Do any of you have season tickets there and paid PSL's?
Like I said before, you do realize the whole tower inside the stadium isn't glass, right? There isn't this huge light/heat reflection like you keep saying.
Also, the morning sun isn't as powerful as it is in the afternoon, so there isn't some super charge up period where the tower is preheating the east side. This theory is just silly.
Okay. I'm not a scientist nor will I pretend to "know" my theory to be true. What I do know is that I've sat on that side and it's brutal. And it was only 70ish degrees when I sat there in December. Felt like 90. I can't even imagine September games there.
And thousands of people feel the same way, as eveidenced by the majority of empty seats on that side. It's an embarrassment to the franchise and an insult to those who paid PSL's on that side.

Only empty on the East side though? And it opened in 2014, that was coming off a damn good season, and that side was still pretty empty for the most part.
I get your point though. I suppose we'll find out once the Niners go 8-0 to start the season.

srs question. Are the PSL's considerably less on the EAST side? Never been a season ticket holder so I don't pay much attention to it.

The East side started out as the Home side, so I'd imagine the PSL's were more there. Then Harbaugh demanded that they move the Niners sideline to the West side to get them out of the sun. So anyone who bought tickets on the East side, thinking they'd be on the home side, got screwed. That also meant the Niners couldn't walk through the lower area between fans (similar to the Cowboys). Fans on the East side screwed again.
I talked with several season ticket holders when I sat on the West side, and a couple of them successfully switched sides, but only after forking over MORE PSL money. All of them were angry about it but knew there was nothing they could do. Every one of them regretted getting them at all.

I've been to some games (not a season ticket holder - wish I was) and have sat on the sunny side without a problem. I think it's a great stadium. Is it perfect? No, but no stadium is. Can it get hotter than hell on the sunny side? Yes, on some days...yes it can. Does that bother me in the slightest? No, not at all. It doesn't bother me as I'm used to it - I've lived in the Bay Area my whole life (fan since the mid '70s) and have watched many, many football games in the California sun/80-90 degree days. I'll take the heat any day over trying to watch a game on those days where it's freezing cold or rainy in places like Green Bay, Chicago or Seattle. I have a few friends here who are season ticket holders sitting on the sunny side...they also really like Levi's, how it's constructed, etc., and also don't have a problem with the heat.
