Stupid question here, but how does the glass tower provide shade and also reflect sun from the same side?

It doesn't, they're just making s**t up.

1-2 a year
I don't think you go. You definitely haven't sat in a September sun game on the sunny side. Pics or you lying.

I went to the Seattle & Tennessee game last year. Seattle was wet and overcast, Tennessee was cool but sunny.
For the record, I am a season ticket holder and have been to every single Niners game at Levi's. My seats are in the south end zone. I'm in the sun the whole game except for late December when the sun hits me in around half time. The only time I've been truly uncomfortable was last years opener when it was around 100 degrees. It had shorts, tank top, hat, and sandals on. Plenty of sunscreen. It was hot, just like anywhere when it's a 100 degrees is. You prepare and deal with it, or stay home. It's not that hard.

This. Great post and as clear as day IMO. I mean, 100 degrees is 100 degrees - incredibly hot but you prepare for it or stay home like you mentioned. (Side note: Awesome you've been to every game at Levi's! Wish I could say the same.)

Haven't missed a home game since '98! There is no better feeling for me than sitting in my seat and rooting for my team. Been through some rough and tough years, but I still have a great time every game.

That said, I get it if the conditions aren't right for some people and they might not enjoy their experience at the game. Why should people pay money to not have a good time. I just think people make too much of a big deal about the conditions at Levi's when for the most part it doesn't even afffect them.

And thousands of people feel the same way, as eveidenced by the majority of empty seats on that side. It's an embarrassment to the franchise and an insult to those who paid PSL's on that side.

I've been to some games (not a season ticket holder - wish I was) and have sat on the sunny side without a problem. I think it's a great stadium. Is it perfect? No, but no stadium is. Can it get hotter than hell on the sunny side? Yes, on some days...yes it can. Does that bother me in the slightest? No, not at all. It doesn't bother me as I'm used to it - I've lived in the Bay Area my whole life (fan since the mid '70s) and have watched many, many football games in the California sun/80-90 degree days. I'll take the heat any day over trying to watch a game on those days where it's freezing cold or rainy in places like Green Bay, Chicago or Seattle. I have a few friends here who are season ticket holders sitting on the sunny side...they also really like Levi's, how it's constructed, etc., and also don't have a problem with the heat.

You said it yourself, you're not a season ticket holder. Lol. Where are your friend's seats? How much were their PSL's? I suppose for fans in the upper deck on that side, they shouldn't complain too much. They knew those we're not premium seats and would always be in the sun up that high.
I don't get the PSL argument at all. A ton of fans for other teams paid PSL only to sit in the rain/snow for several games every year, which isn't super convenient for every fan, either. PSLs are simply the MO of all stadiums built for 25 years now. There's no perfect comfort all the time guarantee because of PSLs.

It can't.

I'm in the second deck on the home side and I'm always in the shade by 1PM kickoff.

I'm sure its hot on the other side as there wouldn't be so many complaints if that weren't the case and I'm not gonna disagree when I haven't personally sat there, but it ain't like its not even hotter in Nashville, Carolina, etc.

I kinda think Bay Area fans are so spoiled by the weather that they can't handle more than a few degrees off of perfect weather.

BTW, Candlestick could get pretty hot early in the year, but the main reason people didn't have this EXACT same problem is because Candlestick Point was the coldest area in the entire Bay.

"You said it yourself, you're not a season ticket holder. Lol." (Not sure how that's an "Lol"...I can't afford season tickets to be honest). "Where are your friend's seats? How much were their PSL's?" (None of your business).

We obviously have different perspectives on this. We'll agree to disagree.

Dolphins did and attendance was hurt, so they installed an overhang

People in the Bay Area are used to a certain climate. For years on end. Yes, they'll have a harder time adjusting than someone out of Mississippi in August. Not a bad thing, it's reality

Someone said the cotton bowl mid summer in the hundreds was more pleasant than Levi's in November....so yeah try arguing with that logic

It's an LOL because I'm arguing on behalf of season ticket holders. They are the ones who got screwed. Anyone who goes to a game here or there and gets their ticket from StubHub has no right telling someone who forked over tens of thousands of dollars to "toughen up." GTFO with that nonsense.

The stadium is poorly designed, robbed the locals, and the ownership is too cheap to fix it. It's okay to love the players and root for the team, but still admit the stadium is a joke and the owners are greedy a**holes.
