Questions for you Furlow: Are you a season ticket holder? And how many games have you been to?

Okay. I'm not a scientist nor will I pretend to "know" my theory to be true. What I do know is that I've sat on that side and it's brutal. And it was only 70ish degrees when I sat there in December. Felt like 90. I can't even imagine September games there.

And thousands of people feel the same way, as eveidenced by the majority of empty seats on that side. It's an embarrassment to the franchise and an insult to those who paid PSL's on that side.

I've been to some games (not a season ticket holder - wish I was) and have sat on the sunny side without a problem. I think it's a great stadium. Is it perfect? No, but no stadium is. Can it get hotter than hell on the sunny side? Yes, on some days...yes it can. Does that bother me in the slightest? No, not at all. It doesn't bother me as I'm used to it - I've lived in the Bay Area my whole life (fan since the mid '70s) and have watched many, many football games in the California sun/80-90 degree days. I'll take the heat any day over trying to watch a game on those days where it's freezing cold or rainy in places like Green Bay, Chicago or Seattle. I have a few friends here who are season ticket holders sitting on the sunny side...they also really like Levi's, how it's constructed, etc., and also don't have a problem with the heat.

You said it yourself, you're not a season ticket holder. Lol. Where are your friend's seats? How much were their PSL's? I suppose for fans in the upper deck on that side, they shouldn't complain too much. They knew those we're not premium seats and would always be in the sun up that high.
"You said it yourself, you're not a season ticket holder. Lol." (Not sure how that's an "Lol"...I can't afford season tickets to be honest). "Where are your friend's seats? How much were their PSL's?" (None of your business).

We obviously have different perspectives on this. We'll agree to disagree.

It's an LOL because I'm arguing on behalf of season ticket holders. They are the ones who got screwed. Anyone who goes to a game here or there and gets their ticket from StubHub has no right telling someone who forked over tens of thousands of dollars to "toughen up." GTFO with that nonsense.

The stadium is poorly designed, robbed the locals, and the ownership is too cheap to fix it. It's okay to love the players and root for the team, but still admit the stadium is a joke and the owners are greedy a**holes.

You can have your opinion - and no one's telling you to "toughen up". But I couldn't disagree more with you about your comments that season ticket holders "are the ones who got screwed" (I know a lot of them and no one's telling me this - again, wish I was a season ticket holder)...that "the stadium is poorly designed" (couldn't disagree more from my experience and in talking to others who have been)...and the rest of your last paragraph. I don't know any fellow 49er fans here in the Bay Area, season ticket holders or not, who have these same sentiments as you. Again, you're entitled to your own opinion and whatever floats your boat. As I said, we'll agree to disagree.

You must be new to the thread lol. A lot of people in here are saying "toughen up." And I guess you and your friends are the part of the few season ticket holders who don't mind the sun. If they're actually season ticket holders. Weird that you can't say where they're located or how much their PSL's were. Not asking for seat numbers lol.

The most difficult part of a hot 1PM game is sitting on the sunny side when you're drunk from the tailgate. But the only thing I hate more than that is being sober at a tailgate.

Think what you want to think. I'm not giving you any info related to fellow fans I know that are season ticket holders - I don't even know you. To be honest, I've never asked them how much they paid for their seat licenses - there are quite a few of them and it's none of my business, anyway. Don't want to derail this thread. Feel free to PM me if you've got any more issues with what I've posted.

Speaking as a Season Ticket holder I can say that I don't feel screwed, I don't think it's poorly designed, or that the owners are too cheap to improve it.

I think its a pretty damn nice stadium that I apologize, doesn't look like a spaceship (Dallas, Arizona), a Jawa Sandcrawler (Minn), or an enormous sphincter (Atlanta). It isn't domed or covered because we live in the freakin Bay Area.

I like the stadium, think its a HUGE upgrade over Candlestick, and I think anyone thinking objectively can't say otherwise. I mean seriously...just the size of the concourses alone is an enormous difference. Being able to go get food and still watch the game is so much better.

Somewhere along the line, IMO many people decided they wanted to hate it and look for any and all reasons to do so. All this team needs is a winner. Once huge games take place in that building people will start to think of it more fondly. I mean seriously, what do you think people thought of Candlestick when they moved from Kezar?

To me, this is just another case of spoiled fans.

The same fans that hated Steve Young for having the audacity not to be born Joseph Montana are the ones who b***h about the heat at Levis and complain about the prices of PSLs (or SBLs) because they had some of the cheapest tickets in the NFL at Candlestick for DECADES. That was simply because the building was in such bad shape.

Some people couldn't afford the SBLs or tickets now. That's cool. No harm there...but the reality is that tickets for NFL games are expensive. That isn't a case though of the 49ers screwing you. That's the 49ers Privately Financing 90% of a new building to stay in the Bay Area for the next 40+ years and the money has to come from somewhere. If it doesn't come from taxes, it has to come from fans to GO TO THE GAMES. Simple as that.

Moreover, this is the model of NFL stadiums. The 49ers didn't pioneer this approach. This is how its done.

Wanna complain about how the team charges so much and then makes a ton of money?

Ask yourself this....The Raiders right now are in a standoff with Khalil Mack because it is very likely that Mark Davis can't afford to put the Guaranteed money he would need into escrow to sign him.

The 49ers meanwhile were able to put Jimmy Garoppolos 74 Mil in escrow without much problem. I ain't complaining.

It's being reported he can. This is more about the head coach/de facto GM being stubborn apparently. [Gruden runs the show there not McKenzie]

They are limited by how much cash on hand they have. That's the biggest difference teams with big money have, signing bonus money.

I had skin cancer on my cheek removed earlier this year, and I'm only 31 Sitting in the direct sunlight for 3+ hours is most likely a no-go for me, even with sunscreen on. Goddamn sensitive skin

I would say something like that could be a valid complaint about the heat at a stadium. But, knowing my condition, I would most likely never bother going to a day game there because of that
