At least they dropped the water prices to 2 bucks haha. Time to bring out the sun screen and shades ;)

The Romans figured this out over a thousand years ago...
They can do it but don't want to pay. With a billion dollars you can do plenty to take care of customers.

Those pillars for Miami's shade structure would not pass the airport height regulations.

But we've been over that before, guys. Bringing it up again won't change things

They still don't understand that buy "impossible", he was referring to the limitations such as the airport height regulations, etc

Dolphins need that thing to be hurricane proof and take on 150mph winds. I don't see why we can't just build simple shade awnings over the sunny side that are temporary without adding too much height or weight. I believe we have a 24 foot difference between Levis and the maximum allowed height.

Fair point. I think it would be different if Levi's was a bowl design. My guess is that they'd want to avoid any possible pillars that would obstruct sight lines, which may be unavoidable even with a canvas awning. Trading heat complaints for a couple games a year for sight line complaints for every game is probably not a deal they are willing to make.

Whichever agency or company did the feasibility study for the location, are f***ing idiots

It's 2018 not 218. There are ways to create shade. Qatar is about to make a flying blimp cloud thing that covers the sun for the World Cup and it only costs $500K. That's like the NFL vet minimum salary. But hey let's put in a virtual putt putt golf course because that's why fans come to a football game.

San Jose airport flight paths probably make this impossible via regulation. I mean, if they can't build mutch more vertically without violating regulations I'm sure having what is essentially a huge flying saucer over the stadium probably isn't gonna approved, either.

Depends on how high it can get up. Maybe if they park that think over Saratoga like 5 miles up, it'll cover all
of Santa Clara and the greater South Bay Area.
Yes, thank you. This is the type of creative thinking that gets problems solved. I hate the, "no way, that's impossible" attitude. What if some of the greatest inventors thought like that? Nothing would ever get accomplished.

True, but I imagine the safety regulations and air traffic control in Qatar might be a little looser than that of USA standards. I mean, it's been widely reported that practical slave labor and countless deaths have occurred in the building of their World Cup stadiums. Borrowing ideas from them might be a little more difficult in California of all places.
