Field is going to be a mess with the storm that's coming in over the weekend. Good thing they built it completely open air with no overhangs for winter rain or summer/fall heat
Yeah, how dare football be played outside in weather in January. How did the NFL ever survive some of its most famous bad weather games like the Ice Bowl? Wait, are you telling me that was part of the game's charm and allure for decades? Pish-posh with that silliness - I paid for basketball on artificial field turf in 2019 and will accept nothing below a 65-60 "nail biter". You know, the way the game was always intended to be played.

I don't know about complaining about an open air stadium, but you're right about the storm that's coming. It's probably gonna be the worst one we've seen in a while. Lots of rain and up to 50 mph winds are being forecasted. Might actually slow the game down and we'll see an old school grind it out battle on the field.

What a great read. Very passionate writing, but boy is he spot on. Every critique is 100% correct, from an unbiased PoV.

LOL @ that view being unbiased. That was the definition of bias. It just happens to be the bias you side with.

I don't see anything new. Same stuff everyone but Homer's have been saying since game 1 played there.

The agenda in that article is as thick as some of the opinions on here.

I thought about going, especially since ticket prices dropped, but that guy got one thing right. I just don't give a s**t about college football enough to bother going. This is definitely not a passionate college football area.

Me too, I thought about it but Alabama vs Clemson? No thanks.
The article is definitely over the top but that is expected from BR.

I couldn't think of 2 college programs I would want to see play in a title game more than Alabama and Clemson, and I still have no desire to go. I personally think both teams being so far from the west coast is the biggest issue. It's not like this game is going to look like the PAC-12 title game with the attendance. It's funny how tickets become reasonably priced for a mega event like this and people actually want to hate on that. lol

I am tired of Alabama vs Clemson. Mostly tired of Alabama.

I hear ya. It's boring for everybody but their fans to have to keep seeing them in it. But they are clearly the 2 best teams in college football.

That's said, still couldn't care less. lol

Damn you Debbie downers

I hear ya but I love it!!! Can't hate on these two schools for being in the top of their class. Rest of College football programs are lagging but not far behind for some.

My old lady, cousins went to Clemson and I can't wait to go to this game. I will say this from being able to go to a Clemson game in SC and a Bama game too, the atmosphere there is more electric than Levi's. And it helps too those stadiums are better....

Sucks but the truth is the Bay Area has never been big on the college football scene and I will say the same for college basketball. You want to see real college basketball played go to a Duke-UNC game.. fk me.

Man, Jed getting embarrassed nationally again. This time lack of demand for the National Championship game. No one cares about Santa Clara. People staying in the City and have to travel for a while to get there. Factors:
  • Boring stadium
  • Boring area
  • Nothing to do
  • No one cares about going to an event at Levi's

What a failure this has been smh. Should have fought tooth and nail to get something done in the city. Let OG Eddie handle it

Eviscerated by SB Nation...
Behold Santa Clara, the worst National Championship venue available

By FAR, Levi's has been the worst "new stadium" opening in the NFL. Probably in sports (yes, worse than the Florida Marlins). This has been a massive embarrassment. Check out the bullet points:
  • The heat issue will not go away, at all
  • The travel issue
  • The parking issue
  • The area sucks
  • Too far from the City team is named after
  • Hard to make it a fun guys weekend cause if you're staying in the City its too dam far
  • THEY STILL CAN'T FIGURE OUT THE GRASS LOL
  • No culture of football
  • BORING, bland stadium
  • Luxury suite design is hideous
Man, Jed has brought us hardcore fans so much misery.

Candlestick, we miss you (never thought I'd say that)

Lol jed
Drove by the stadium during my lunch earlier. Tons of orange and red all over the area, local restaurants, etc.

People were pretty hyped and the few I spoke to said they were enjoying the area despite the weather the last few days. They had heard about the turf issues.

Left work early to avoid all traffic (I work off of Bowers/Great America. Hopefully traffic is handled well!
Field looks fine
I'm at the game and Levi's is absolutely rockin right now! This is awesome!
