I'm sure every new stadium has it's good points and bad ones. The new stadium in LA looks awesome but I'm sure some fans have found issues with it. Levis doesn't look near as nice especially from the outside bit it cost less than 1/5 as much. In theory, every new stadium should be an improvement since it can borrow the best things from existing facilities and eliminate the bad stuff. Plus the technology is always changing.

Just be happy they didn't relocate to another state like the Raiders did.
Bay area cost, Carbon foot print and Deconstruction costs is also a factor. I can see why some don't like the outside, it goes to the game to watch the outside of the stadium?

People without tickets?

Cops will kick you out if you're not going in the game

Yup. Tailgating sucks too. They used the design from 1997. Lol

that old design was better

How do they know? Are you required to show your game tickets when you enter the parking lot? There were people that used to go to the games at the Stick just for the tailgate parties. We never had to show tickets. Anyway I was just kidding of course.

Cops patrol around, but they started cracking down on people at the stick towards the end. I used to love the in and out privileges at the stick back in the days

The idea of some type of covering has been raised before but supposedly it can't be done because of height restrictions . Something to do with the airplanes taking off and flying over. It doesn't look like the covering in that photo would add so much height that the planes would hit it. They aren't that low when they fly over are they?

Looking at the photo I see that it is providing shade for all the seats on that side. The sun would still shine on many of the fans as it got later in the day. I also wonder if that overhang would hold in the heat.

I will just say this. I truly miss that man as the owner. Can't believe it's been over 20 years now since his departure.

We all do but let's be realistic. He couldn't do the things he did back then with the new rules. There was no salary cap then. There weren't as many restrictions on bonuses as there are now. For part of his time as owner there was no free agency so players could be kept as long as they performed. There were 2 more franchises added so the pool of players got smaller.

He just couldn't be the same Eddie we loved.

Yeah they built Levi's right in the middle of a flight path, that stadium design in the pic was meant for the Candlestick location so heat wasn't really something they needed to worry about as much as they do in SC

As many have said, all stadiums have some issues...very difficult, if not impossible to build the "perfect" one. I've only been to Levi's once...it was in Dec '15 on a chilly day. We had south end zone seats on the 2nd level. Great visibility of the field. I get the shade issue...it's problematic, for sure. Maybe they could come up with a way to shade it that's the same height or even a bit lower than the top of the stadium. Anyway, be thankful the access to the park is ok. In Denver, the "new" mile high stadium was built in a not-so-great part of town (industrial area). They purposely built a very small parking lot, banking on mass transit systems to get the majority of fans to the stadium. In Aug 2012 (Den vs SF, 3rd preseason game) my son & I got on a train in the south part of town. It was already packed, so we stood for the better part of an hour, as the herky-jerky train made it's way. When we finally got there, a large group of fans (us included) had to wait for 15-20 mins while a Southern Pacific train passed before we could get to the stadium. You had to physically cross the railroad tracks to get there. Hopefully they've fixed that with a pedestrian overpass or something. We saw Peyton Manning & Alex Smith play the 1st half...Den led at halftime, but Kap played the 2nd half and we won going away.

Homer shades aside, it's THE worst modern stadium out there. I'd reckon this holds even if you take all the new stadiums from all the major 4 sports into account.

sad

I've been to the stadium many times to watch the Niners...not going to try to rank it against other NFL stadiums but I think it's a very good "modern" stadium. Zero issues. I've had nothing but good experiences there. And yes, I've mainly sat squarely on the sunny side. Yes, it gets hot, but no big deal to me as I've been in California all my life watching football in the hot sun. Would take that all day, every day and twice on Sundays vs. watching football in the freezing cold in Green Bay.
The fact that it was built directly in the flight path (planes fly almost right over the middle of the stadium) really punctuates the poor planning that went into the stadium's construction.

Pilots have complained that the lights from the stadium are bright enough to somehow cause "headaches" from strained vision.

The organization did some extensive research into addressing the shade and without MAJOR reconstruction to the entire upper 400 level, it just won't happen.

I keep saying that the whole "schedule road games early" because our terrible stadium fries our fans will one day bite us in the ass.

Take this season for example, what if we run into improved and surprising teams in Detroit and Philly and start off 0-2? In a year like 2013 with a tight division race, the sun/heat issue could one day screw up an entire season.

It was hastily planned with Jed agreeing to anything to get SC to agree to a deal.
