Too bad they won't upgrade the stadium with shade

This.
Lol they're only improving the vip seating

Let the other 65% of fans bake in the sun…

I still think they need to partially remove the 4th deck, fill in those stupid gaps.. enclose the stadium, and use the newfound height clearance to add shade.

They should have had someone design a modern stadium for the Santa Clara site rather than repurposing an old design for Candlestick Point.
Props for not further burdening taxpayers for more subsidies.

Hindsight is always 20/20. Nobody in 2012-2013 was thinking that having an open air stadium in Northern California would be an issue. That the stadium got built at all was a bit of a miracle.

I knew it was a terrible idea to recycle the old design.

The open air aspect is not an issue IMO.

The Warriors and Giants had no problems building their privately financed stadiums. The 49ers wanted and got massive handouts from Santa Clara.

more BS, you do know MLB and NBA doesn't have the same revenue sharing as the NFL right ?

meaning those teams can finance stadiums themselves.. imagine the 49ers having 40 to 80 home games a season and collecting that money

I think the plan is to upgrade the suites and video boards rather than adding shade or a roof.

So stadiums lose money?
Wasn't SOFI was privately funded?
