While I think that some of the gear isn't my style, it's not all that bad. Most of the stuff is pretty copy cat from team to team. They just change colors and logos. Our gear is pretty much what other teams have available. The problem is that there is only one sponsor for the entire league. They can do whatever they want. When it was Nike, Adidas, and Reebok all competing in the league, there was some gear that was pretty good looking and original. Those days seem to be dead.
Thanks Stoney. Yes indeed the fact that there is only one major sportswear manufacturer with an exclusive deal, can definitely contribute to the lack of progressive design. We all know without competition any product can stagnate. I suppose they can print out whatever they want because if you want to fly your teams colors, you're gonna do it on Reeboks flag. You know its kind of scary that the NFL has such a laissez-faire attitude about the designs once a vendor wins the bidding war for the license. That whole philosphy could get out of hand real quick .There are plenty of fringe companies with piles of loot, just itching for a chance to validate themselves as a major player in the american marketplace.
Now that I think about it Pro-Wings probably would put it out there better than Reebok is doing
