Agreed, id say hudson or jay moore might be less of a surprise and a option. With the 3-4 we need all the bodies at linebacker we can get so I don't see j moore being the option. Maybe ahmad brooks! Unless he makes a big improvement. Brooks stays healthy tho so I dunno?

I was just bulls**tting. I agree that QB is a position where we are cutting someone. I'm just being annoying cause I like hearing all of the guys wanting Smith's Jock Strap. I don't hate the guy, he just wasn't worth a #1 overall spot.

There wasn't a qb really worth the 1 spot! But it is what it is. If he was taken in rogers spot not many would have a problem. And the arguements to his defense would fall from the sky defending the man cause he was injured lol! Which he has been. He wasn't so pro ready coming from a gimicky offense. But hey I hear he is in a heated battle wit hill. So time will only tell

Sims Cut, Niners have Snyder that can play RT if Smith gets injured, and can use a roster spot to keep Boone or Bender

Moore Cut, and im not so sure Brooks is the one who takes that last OLB spot
I have a feeling one of our OLBs isnt on the team yet

as far a Battle goes.. kinda depends on if he is healthy
Niners could use his blocking and possesion ability late in games
and if Rossum gets dinged, he could come in as PR

But I'd hate to lose someone like Ziegler or Hill, for one more year of Battle
so i think he gets cut

Ray Mac, No need to cut him, put him on the shelf, let him fully recover
and we get a good Ray Mac next year, Frenchy takes his spot

Spence. tough call, he's likely to be the #4 even if he's healthy and is getting paid way to much, I like how he plays though and would be good (but expensive) insurance in case one of our top 3 get dinged, I think he stays

Hudson, I think he makes it as our 9th DB, can play CB or S in an emergency and is very good special teamer, Taylor could give him some competion for that spot in TC though

It wouldn't be much of a surprise if we discuss the surprise cut.

What are you talking about man? Battle has never been the underdog of our WRs. He has been the best out of a bunch of nobodies for years! Now that we actually have some talent at WR he is clearly the underdog, but don't act like that's been going on for years. He was considered our #2 receiver all the way up until last season! So I have no idea where you got this underdog stuff from

Yes this is the first yr he has actually been threatened for his spot on the roster! Last yr we had bruce, johnson, hill, morgan. People saying he was gettin cut cause the signing of johnson n co. This year is no different except we are more deep in the talent level of wideout!

As I said I agree wit ya 100% he has been a plus for us when healthy. He is one of the best blocking wr's in the game. And shown some clutch times for us when it counted!

Mike Nolan was cut already so no one who should be there will be cut or traded

Actually, the Webzone used to have a huge man-crush on Battle up until last season. He was highly overrated on this forum. So he was never made the underdog, not even on this forum, up until last season. And let's not forget that we didn't know what we had in Morgan and Hill at the start of last season. Now that we have a better understanding of their capabilities, it's clear they are better than Arnaz Battle and he deserves to have to fight for his roster spot.

Also, Battle is NOT one of the best blocking receivers in the league, sorry. Just because he was better than anyone we had doesn't make him one of the best in the league. Have you ever seen Terrell Owens block downfield? How about Hines Ward? THOSE guys are some of the best blocking WRs and Battle is not even close to being on their level.
