94 is probably in the lead due to the age of some of the people on here.... I watched the SB's in 88, 89 and 94 and by far 94 was my favorite team and im 30.

The 88 season stands out because 2/3 of the way through the season it didn't even look like the Niners were going to make the playoffs. I was living in Southern California at the time and I remember hearing an interview with the Charger's coach Al Saunders who predicted, despite the 6-5 record the Niners had at the time, that he believed they would make it to the Super Bowl. I'll admit I had my doubts but Saunders was right.
That season was highlighted by the beat down the Niners gave the Bears (who were something like 14-2 that year) at Soldier Field in the snow. Not bad for a finesse team. Of course the capper was the Montana driven drive (where he spots John Candy in the stands to Randy Cross' amazement) that wins the Super Bowl.
All of those Super Bowl seasons stand out but in 88 it looked improbable for a good portion of the season. Also, that was Walsh's last season.

For me 81 because it was the first, it was unexpected, and it was a magical year! I was lucky I had season tickets from 1978 through 2007. So I saw them all, and went to two Super Bowls and 4 of the 5 NFC Championship games. My wife and I where very very lucky as Oliver my good friend can tell you! But I honestly believe the best team was the 1984 Team for talen, ask Ronnie Lott as that is his favorite also!

I had to go with the first. 1981 was just too special to put into words. I was a freshman in HS and I can still remember it almost like yesterday. After starting out the season 1-2 . . . just like every other year, then to finish 15-1 and with a Superbowl was almost surreal.
1989 is a close second. I think that it was the best football team in Niner history and maybe NFL history.

Bill Walsh said he always thought the 1984 team was the best he coached. Hard to argue with him, they went 15-1 and that 1 was lost on a debatable call.

1. 1981- There was nothing like the magic that team brought to the city.
2. 1984- Near perfect team.
3. 1989- They overcame much adversity.
4. 1990- IMO the most dominant team in 49er history.
5. 1994- Had to buy that one.

Come on, the 84 team was as good as or better than all those other teams at every position except for one, wide receiver. Craig and Tyler in the backfield, and that secondary was first rate. They were so good you would call Clark and Solomon the weak spots, compared to the 88,89,94 teams.

true dat. 21-0 in the first quarter against the cowgirls. that was prolly one of the best days of my life. back then i remember my heart racing and my palms sweating yelling at the screen. i couldnt believe we pulled it off. great season in 94. but had season tix between 84 and 89 seasons right under the score board. the stick was the place to be in the 80's and i was born in 81. so im happy to say i grew up with the dynasty

That's awesome, well hope this season comes good cause well our dynasty took a vacation lol!
I never picked my fav superbowl! I loved em all but id say the 94 season was excellent! It was so awesome the thrashing we gave the cowboys in the champ game. It seemed like the superbowl was played twice that yr lol. Youngs td record. Watters whoopin ass along with jerry rice! We had so many great wideouts on hand! s**t we even had ed mccaffrey! 89,88, 84, 81 all frickin rocked as well. This is such a hard question to answer!
The success and the locker room filled should be hall of famers. So many players should be inducted to the hall, or at least have a room to themselves in canton. All where outshined by the likes of montana, lott, rice, young. I honestly thing craig should be inducted! And gore just might be inducted before him lol

I can still see that field goal Wersching missed against the Steelers. Oh, well.

craig definately had what it took to be one of the greatest backs! he was basically a brian westbrook or marshall faulk with a high step! haha he was the first true running back with wide out capabilities.
