as soon as they mentioned this dude was undrafted, sent his tape to every school, got no offers, walked on, made the NFL, it was his first touch, i knew we were cooked
Special teams looks like a Three Stooges episode
If they keep making this phase of the team a place for rookies and scrubs then what do you expect?
Being risk averse (Shanny) is being a greater risk in a league where the bold are increasingly gaining their fortune.
Need three phases to be strong to win. We are 0-3 sans Brock JJ and mason on offense. Not a championship caliber roster. s**t not even a 500 caliber roster.

Yup. "Don't mess it up" is not a winning philosophy. Imagine Shanahan going to against a DC who had a dont mess it up attitude. He'd drop 50 on that coordinator. We've got to be better than that.
how our "special" teams looks like

He just went up against one. Didn't even get close to 50…

In a game he should have won by 50....
Trash
I don't understand a don't mess it up philosophy if you are going to use a 3rd on a kicker and a 4th on a punter. That screams special teams seems like a high priority.

+1.

Can't rely on a "don't mess it up" philosophy for ST. We've seen the results of that. ST can change momentum quickly as we've also seen too many times.

Unfornunately that is only 1 of the 11 that are on field at any time during ST plays.
Worst special teams in the league.
