They didnt have any time at all last year and look at how we did then.
I agree. There aren't many knits to pick on this team, but if you had to pick one, it would have to be kick coverage and the return game.

Also, I think we need to think about taking the touch back on kickoffs, at least until Ginn gets back. I started taking a tally in my head after the first sub-20 return and we lost ~15 cumulative yards, maybe a bit more, by running it out.
It's pretty obvious, coulda been a huge screw up if Williams didn't get that pooched onside kick.
I was about to start this thread. Blake and Colin Jones were clutch knifers on kick returners. Our coverage is actually mediocre this year.
looks like crap
Kyle Williams should return kicks and punts until Ginn gets back. Also, I thought it was a mistake not getting Costanzo back for dirt cheap. As we know though if you aren't versatile you wont make the team.

It might be better to activate James or Jenkins and sit Dixon....not that Dixon is doing anything wrong...but the O needs more speed
It would be great to have kept Blake or Colin, but who goes so that we keep them? I expect ST to step it up.

Can't believe I missed this article from last year but hey, nothings changed, we still have the best kicker in the league

That seems kinda drastic, given his performance last year. I don't mean that incredulously, you're a pretty smart guy. What leads you to that conclusion? I'm not going to have a replay until Wednesday, so I'd be interested in hearing more.
sweated out kyle williams going for the onsides kick

yeah I think alot of us did. He was the only one that got back there and there were a bunch of Lions around him when he recovered that ball. One wrong bounce and we would have been looking at OT. I think the risk of doing that was too much and hope they dont pull that crap again. That said we were lucky enough to recover it and win the game.
we were absolutely SWARMING on kick coverage

With the drops on O, we might need to add a new flavor to the mix. We aren't sending Moss deep and Ginn is still hurt....might be worth it to see what the rookie can do now. Even activating James could be worth a look see...could it really hurt? Dixon isn't doing anything really noteworthy on ST and isn't doing anything on O. I would rather get these kids snaps now while we can control teams and bring them in for a few reps as opposed to forcing them in if we have slew of injuries.

With Ginn out Jenkins is probably the fastest WR...let him take the top off a few times.
