Just Blake Costanza. He's why it was, and is no longer, the Tony Montana squad. I remember another player(s) talking about how he started it/it was his thing.

We really need Ginn back to stop all these KR/PR fumbles playoffs and now new season. I think losing Colin Jones may have been a bad idea. Maybe Blake Costanzo. The coverage units just don't look the same. I remember our coverage being so much better last year. I cringe now when I see a return. I think they may bring it back all the way. I didn't have that impression much last year. The coverage units concern me more. Because the return unit will improve with Ginn.
BTW I think the strategy of lining up 11 at the line on the onside kick could come back to bite us. Kicking it over the guys and running after it while it's bouncing around might not always work out. Kyle Williams rolling around on the ground with a bouncing ball just seems like a real bad idea. Imagine that play in January in the mud and wind and rain and Williams diving on a rolling ball in the playoffs....
Something just seems off with this special teams. Akers and Lee are the only guys I trust right now. Not coverage or returns.

It seems Seely is not getting as much out of his teams as last year. It might be the Costanza is not there but the preparation of the special teams is lacking this year compared to last year. But there is clearly a problem.

Man, I hope we are wrong but I have been thinking the same thing. The coverage unit just doesn't seem as dominant. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it just takes time for the new guys to fit together.
Just an after thought. How good have we got it that now we can worry about not having great special teams and currently just a good one?

We kept Dixon buried so deep on the 53 man roster he won't see the field. He runs a 4.7 down the field trying to cover. Meanwhile Colin Jones runs a 4.35 and was an excellent cover guy and we got rid of him. Costanzo was an excellent special teamer too. Did we need Dixon this bad to be buried this deep on the RB chart? And get rid of all our special teams aces?
Our coverage seems so much worse.

I have no idea why we did that? It seems we weakend our special teams to keep a guy buried WAY DEEP on the RB depth chart. He's not going to play anyway. And our special teams has been hurt.

Lets show the Special Teams some love? I thought they gave us a great start, even though we didn't capitalize on it. We shut that crowd down early and fast. Also overall they played great throughout the whole game I feel.

Am I the only one who thinks it's ridiculous that on field goals we actively are not trying to block kicks?
We have dudes standing there jumping up and down and our edges don't even dive to block kicks.
I am not sure who is coaching them to do this or why but it seems to me were wasting potential blocked fgs by not trying to block them. Especially considering the increased difficulty of extra pts and field goals in recent years.
