Given that we are in the "social media" era, I wonder if there's any chance at a "one day alternate" like the infamous "one day logo" from 1991. Assuming the design is something that is universally hated.

No, there is 100% absolutely zero chance of that. NFL gotta make money. Gotta make 1000's of jerseys ahead of time. Back in 91 there was no rules on this stuff like there is now.
Besides, it's just an alternate. lol

I was in the anti-black uni camp, but this doesn't look that bad (the black pants make it look less weird than Colin's practice gear with the black jersey/gold pants) - need the red & white stripes on the pants though:

Black isnt a 49er color. We are RED and GOLD.
