Here's some more pics. Sorry not good at posting pics.
Honestly I kind of like them. I've always liked black though. I'm biased towards the red and gold but I like switching it up. I think they will grow on us and we can only wear them twice a year.

they should change the helmet striping decals to red-black-red to match the pants when these are worn (since it'll just be for 2 games) and it wouldn't violate the rule about having a different-color shell, but i guess the equipment guys nowadays are too lazy
one hopeful thing is if the pants color was changed to white, but the striping colors kept the same, it'd look nearly exactly like the 1955/1994 pants
the pants stripes now that i look at it match the shoulder stripes, so gold accents on the pants striping aren't neccesary
numerals however still need gold trim IMO

Along with the helment stripes, I think a red face mask would do wonders. However I don't know if that violates the helment rule.

But if the shell is the same I'm sure you can change stripes and might be able to change face masks.

Nope. That means changing the uniform, and that's not allowed. To you its just changing a sticker. To the nfl that's changing the brand. Can't change the uni mid season. Simple as that.

lolwut...the Rams do exactly that every year when they wear their LA throwbacks: switch out their metallic gold horn decals to the yellow ones while retaining the same dark blue helmet shell
it'd be pretty much the same thing if the Niners changed to alternate helmet striping...the helmet shell & team logo stay exactly the same
Also, IMO helmet stripes =/= "team branding" and are fair game to change up to better match an alternate uniform's look

It's funny how they went with the same stripes on the sleeves like it's supposed to be a good look.

Teams allowed to wear black jerseys:
Raiders
Steelers
Ravens
Bengals
Panthers
Falcons
Jaguars
Saints
Thats it.
They all use black as a primary or secondary color. If you said "What are these teams colors?" Black and Silver. Black and Yellow. Black and Purple. Black and Orange. Black and Light Blue. Black and Red. Black and Teal. Black and Gold.
These jerseys b*****dize the 49ers tradition and colors, and were only created to generate retail sales from newer fans that think it looks "cool". They arent even creative. Heck, they arent even original. Kap has been wearing this in practice for years.
This entire offseason has been like a bad dream...

The numeral font was different for the numbers "1", "2", "4", and "7" in that they didn't have serifs

1994.
We went 14-1 in the throwbacks. The only loss was a week 17 garbage time game where we sat the starters. 9-0 wearing the throwback reds. I wouldve much preferred those obviously. Plus they were good luck, which we could use.

You do realize that the players requested it right?...

I think the players had a say on what it would look like, but they didnt form a large group and nervously stand outside Jed's office while Kap asked if they could have black alternates.
Alternate jerseys are ALWAYS about revenue. The team already has a good look. They want something new to market to the fans to sell more jerseys. The 49ers made this decision, not the players. Probably because they know the fans are going to be PISSED this year, and they arent going to be able to rely on the newness of the stadium to get fans to look past the ridiculous ticket pricing.
