Call me a purist, or old school, but I just don't like the all black look. Maybe it is a strong gang influence in areas near me but I just don't like it.

same... I associate it with cholo gangbangers. We have a classic design, I dont see a need to make something like this. Maybe an homage to our old uniforms or even bring back the white uniforms, I'm just not a fan of this look.

On top of that I dont find it very appealing... just a lazy design. But hey good on the Yorks, they get to make an extra buck.

Ultimately I just want to win, but I'll be honest, I'm not looking forward to us wearing them.

It is. Just a bunch of black fabric with a red number. Any kindergarten kid could do that.

Also, imagine sitting on the east side of Levi on a hot day with a black jersey on. Not a pleasant thought.

Well this sucks...my raider friends and co-workers are all saying we're straight wanna be raiders now.

Even a day later my reaction is I can't stand this look. The black out look doesn't fit us and moreover the unis still look cheap and second rate. I'm beyond pissed that the red and gold with be shelved for even one game for this trash. I would rather go without an alt than have them wear this s**t.

I don't like those jerseys, I also don't like the Warriors slate jerseys. I guess I'm a traditionalist and like to keep things classic. Red and gold is the only way I identify the team.

Seriously, I'm wondering why they didn't just go with one of our awesome throwback unis from old times (any of them would've been cool). Instead we have to try be the SF Raiders, wtf.

Maybe the color black symbolizes the fact that we're entering the dark ages.

Yeah, they seriously f**ked this up. A 1994 inspired or a silver era 60s uniform would work perfectly as both a change of pace and a fit with end tradition. This black for the sake of black unis was outdated a decade ago. Terribly disappointing that this the alt they chose.

I have no doubt they will look better on TV with the players making plays with them, and if we win a few big games they will start to look pretty good. (Of course the opposite will probably occur if they lose in them)

I wonder what the reaction would be if the 94 throwbacks never existed, and then that's what they brought out this year. It would probably be hated too. "Shadowed numbers? White pants?? pfffft!"

Wish they would have changed the color of the helmet to black or red, it looks weird with the gold helmet

My reaction in 1994 was nothing like this. They actually have a tie to our heritage as they where inspired by the 50s unis.

It's laughable the way they where trying say these jeresy fit the heritage because black is a color for all of our history. Black has been nothing but an accent color that works well when used on a minimal way. It was used way too much on the 1996-2008 set and that's why we needed our real colors back.

Alternate jerseys are ALWAYS about revenue. The team already has a good look. They want something new to market to the fans to sell more jerseys. The 49ers made this decision, not the players. Probably because they know the fans are going to be PISSED this year, and they arent going to be able to rely on the newness of the stadium to get fans to look past the ridiculous ticket pricing.

Players designed it, it takes years for it to go through the process. So they couldn't just do because of this year..tickets are not even that expensive

I repeat, ALL alternate uniforms are created for revenue. Always. Not because the player would like it.
