I don't know in my mind there was at least three styles that could have worked:

1.) '94 throw inspired Alts - title pedigree and nod to teams formative years
2.) 60s silver era - distinct coloring and roads had pretty nice shoulder stripes.
3.) black on black- could've worked with gold incorporated to provide contrast and complete a professional look.

Who came up with this, some stoner in his moms basement? A garbage look, for a team with a garbage coaching staff, and its way to a garbage season! I have been a fan for a long time, and been through some bad seasons, and a couple of pitiful decades, I will stick this out, root for my team, but I will never, ever, not for one second spend a dime on this uniform! What the f**k is next, will we call our fan section the "Black hole"?

Nobody had a problem with our current uniform situation. We have a great set of classic home and road uniforms. No need for an alt.

lol the 49ers only have 4 players available in the Limited version of the black jerseys, and nothing in the Elite.

Kap, Boldin, Reid, Bowman.

If Kap has a bad year we probably move on from him, this is likely Boldin's last year, Reid is a concussion away from joining Chris Borland, and Bowman still has to come back from his major knee injury.

Right, but you dont have to wear them on the field. Make official black and red "fan" jerseys for the people who want them.

The glaring issue isnt that theyre "Nike ugly" like TB or SEA. Its that they cant change the helmet to match, so you have this very traditional old school helmet design that matches the 80's uniforms, combined with black and red. It clashes, and looks terrible.
