Pick 1 color, keep the numbers and trim white and it will at least be pleasant to look at.

Rams with the help of Nike have gold locked down & "Gold Rush" trademarked as a color rush alternate...49ers have to pick another color



That's not gold, that's yellow.

This, never understood that. Just like the Steelers consider themselves wearing black and gold. Gold is our helmet color, that's flat out yellow

Yellow is lame and the fact they are calling it gold and trying to poach the term "gold rush" from us tells you all you need to know about them. What's next? Putting a picture of our trophies in their cabinet?

I've been wondering if I'm tha only one that gets upset about colors and teams seem like I've read fans from packers,steelers and rams all claim gold as a team color but I clearly see it as yellow ...

Anything but black. Black appears no place in our history. Plus, it is nearly impossible to identify players. Announcers hate them.

And to say they represent losing is a little dumb. They had some success in those uniforms, and obviously the uniform has absolutely nothing to do with team performance. We've been terrible for 3 years in a row now, and were pretty mediocre in 2014. Also sucked in 2009 and 2010. Based on your logic, does that mean the current uniform should go because they have sucked the majority of the time they've been wearing them?

I speak my opinion in factual manner because im confident in it. Posting on a message board is all opinions, so it shouldn't be necessary to clarify that everything is your opinion. Thats a given.

I never told you that you couldn't like the 98-08 ones best, I just couldn't believe those would be someone's favorites over the classics. Dont take it so personal.

From 1998-2008 we went 76-100 with only 3 winning seasons in 11 years, and just 2 playoff wins. To me they represent Steve Young's career ending injury, the fall of the dynasty, the stupid firing of Steve Mariucci, losing T.O., and the terrible flop hires of Dennis Erickson and Mike Nolan. I can appreciate them for their design, and the handful of good memories, but overall it felt like they represented an era where we got away from who we were.

They were solid overall uniforms, just a step down from the classics. The 1996 variations are one of my favorite uniforms of all time.

I think the 96-08 woulda have been better if the white pants were kept as an option and maybe wore 2 timesat home and 2 times on the road during that 98-08 period.

Also, I wish the black would have only been used in the outline of the numbers and the outline of the logo. I didn't like it on the helmets and the pants. It just led to a very bark look. You could've had the color change (both gold and cardinal) and I think it would have been a much better look if the helmet and pants stripe remained white surrounded by red (or I guess it would have been cardinal). That coulda been a sharp look with the cardinal face masks.

How about bringing back the pants from the 80s through the 93 season before they went to the white pants and then the 98-08 uniforms. Bring back the huge stripes going down the side of the leg.

If the numbers just had an outline you would be able to see them fine. Piss poor design on those unis. Black would never look right with the gold helmets anyway, unless they outlined the numbers with gold.

That's what I've been thinking. All white uniforms with red on gold or all gold numbers with that style of helmet in the picture. As far as the "turn of the century" uniforms go, I liked them but I wouldn't want to see the team wear them as alternates yet. Maybe in the next era (10-15 years)?

Well it's just the way most of your responses to ppl seem to dismiss other ppl's opinions as if they are wrong and you are always right about anything and everything.

Anyway, believe it. They are my personal favorites. To me they represent the time when I first started watching football; they bring back memories of "the catch II." They remind me of when I was younger and sitting around all day on Sunday watching football and being so eager waiting for the Niners games to start was a new thing for me. I just remember loving to see them play in their home uniforms.

I had like 5 or 6 of those jerseys as a kid and used to love wearing them to school. I got rid of most of them but I saved my Hearst one. I also still have a Gore jersey from that era.

I like the 96 ones too, I just prefer the gold pants. And I think the gold pants from 98-08 look better than the current gold pants. Not sure how they would look with the current jersey though.

Anyway, not a big deal it just seemed like you were appalled at the fact that I said I like the 98-08 uniforms best. Like it's not allowed or something

I'm not a fan of any of the futuristic designs. I hope any alternate incorporates the old "SF" logo and the Quentin font

I'd love that helmet with the black uni's. Never been a fan of the all whites. As an alt. home I would like to see an all dark gold uni (matte, not shinny), red numbers, no strips, black SF emblem on the hips, with that metallic gold helmet; and have all red uni's as opposites as an alternate away (but with black numbers and black SF emblem on hips).

I think that would be awesome
