Bears wear theirs every year, so they're NOT "special occasion" and are for all intents and purposes, their alternates. Same goes with the Packers, though not worn as often as the Bears. If the Niners follow suit and have the '94/'55 throwback as their alternates (worn max 2x a year) then it would make most sense to make them accurate. TV numerals were implemented in the 60s/70s during low-definition TV era. Not so much of a worry nowadays with HDTV, so it wouldn't be a mandatory requirement for uniforms, especially ones based on period-era, pre-TV jerseys like the '94 throwbacks of the '55 jerseys
