I don't understand what the big deal is about with the 94 jerseys. They had the drop back shadow on the white ones recently. How's this a big deal? They could go back to the maroon ones! Lol.

They're iconic and the fans have been asking for it for a long time. The current ones aren't going anywhere

I can't speak for anyone else, but at the time the 94 season was my favorite and Steve Young is my all time favorite player. Being able to buy his throwback jersey from that season makes me sploooooosh

The only thing wrong with the black jerseys were the design. The numbers needed an outline to make them pop. You could not even see the numbers from a distance. A gold outline would have been great, and made the gold helmet look like it belonged. Just a piss poor design.

The black jerseys were designed to match the main set. Single layer twill and two tone colors. A number outline would've made them more visible, but it wouldn't have made sense with the design. It would've looked like the random, ugly black Lions jerseys from years ago.

I didn't care for them anyways. Black is an outline color, but not part of the Niners real scheme. I don't think we'll see them again.

So I guess I misunderstood that they haven't been available. I saw them in white recently (within the last few years). I guess I figured they were available in red too. I saw the players pointing towards the 75 year patch and I figured that was the new part, lol. My bad.

Yeah, they released the white throwbacks in 2019 as a "color rush" alternate, meaning they would fit the "all one color" format at the time.

This year they are releasing the red version as a tribute to their 75th anniversary. I guess it loosely ties into the 1994 throwbacks having the NFL 75th patches.

We are wearing the reds 4 times and the whites 2 times. I originally figured the reds would replace the whites as the single alternate. Its cool the No Fun League is allowing us to break the rules and use both for that many games.

TBH its more of a retail ploy than anything, but I love it.

I feel like they could take a few pages out of the NBA and relax some of the Jersey restrictions. It seems like they've been heading that way lately but it sure has been a slow process.

I agree with the retail ploy. It makes sense to have multiple styles available. It's kind of lame only being able to by one or two different jerseys and have to own multiple of the same look with just a different number and name.
