NEW ALT. UNIFORMS

taken from the other thread.....but how do yall like this darker color red...more burgundy to go with our uniforms..... sometimes it just seems like our regular red colors are just too bright

lol everyone used to complain that our old jerseys were too dark before we got these new ones. Now they're too bright?

We are down to our final preseason game & the new alt's uni's are not on the field come thrusday we probably wont see them this year period

maybe the team decided to hold them back until next season or they just scratch off the whole thing entirely.

It used to be (for the 1980's throwbacks that were worn 2002, 2005-08) that it was during the middle of the preseasonwhen the team announced which two home regular season games the Niners would wear them. They probably won't wear any alternates/throwbacks this year since the league rule are that it take 2 seasons for uniform changes/alternates to be approved, but the team might still surprise us. Who knows, during the developement of the 2009 redesign, an alternate might have also been submitted, but was put on hold till this season (or 2011).

No, they're the perfect shade of cherry/scarlet red now, plus that is the classic shade of 49er red that was worn during the glory years. You must also take into account that with player persperation that soaks the fabric and during night games, the shade of red will darken. There was by far a greater amount of complaint from the darker cardinal red that was used from 1996-2008, in that in night games and with sweat, it turned to an undesireable dark maroon shade.

the cowboys complained, so the team had to switch to non-mettalic gold for the pants...

Sooooo...are we getting new alternate uniforms or not? I've never heard any news of the sort, so I don't know why there's a huge discussion on it.

Okay, so I keep hearing about throwbacks, and I even saw Sing sporting that badass retro varsity jacket on the sideline (tonight) so I wiki'd our 2010 season and found this picture:
