So I don't know what you hated, but back to my original point, I think, that they're wearing the throwbacks 3 times this year and I'm pumped. Doubt they'll ever wear anything from the 90's again.

Should've scheduled to wear them against the Cowboys on SNF as well instead of the Giants or Ravens…it looks like it's gonna be an annual tradition now to wear the '94 all white throwbacks up in Seattle (won the NFCW twice up there wearing them)…at least it's more and more confirmed the '94 are turning into the "night game" uniform, appropriate due to the Deion "Primetime" connotations

No, no they aren't. The throwbacks they will wear this year in the 3 games are the ones they wore for the remainder of the '94 season when they won the Super Bowl because Seifert was superstitious. Throwbacks because they were originally worn in 1955. The uniforms they are currently wearing are similar to the original '94 unis, and all through the '80's, but not the same. Difference in the stripes on the sleeves.

edit: maybe you and your friends are wearing throwbacks? Is that what you meant by "we"? Maybe I'm confused about your statement?

The '94 throwbacks we are wearing are not the same as the '96 unis, you don't know what you're talking about

Dude, they aren't wearing '94 throwbacks in those games, they're wearing '55 throwbacks. I'm confused about WTF you're even trying to argue about, so gonna let you take your fight to someone else. People that only come here for arguments and belittling others are what's driving this site down. All I said was I'm excited about seeing the '55 throwbacks that they wore in the '94 season and Super Bowl. But they're not even the exact same as the '55 unis, hence the word "throwback". Why you want to argue about that is beyond me.

And what in the HELL do you mean by "we"? It's confusing. Are you talking about you and your friends? Or do you actually play on the team?

Yea I would've opted for the throwbacks vs Dallas and at Philly. Don't get why they chose the Giants and Ravens…

I think we're arguing semantics here.

The uniforms worn in Super Bowl 29 were the 55 uniforms just with the regular SF helmet instead of the red helmet they actually wore.

They're referred to as the 94 Throwbacks because that's the season that the majority of 49ers fans know them from. They're also not a 1 to 1 match, as the red was darker and the team wore solid red socks instead of the striped ones (in addition to the helmet).

1964 was the first year the team wore the traditional red and gold we all know and love. Before that, they wore the silver and red uniforms.

1963

1964

They wore these up until 1995.

As for we, a lot of fans identify themselves with the team use we. After all, there wouldn't even be a team if it wasn't for us, the fans, seeing as we're the ones that buy tickets and merchandise.

As for the reason why I'm not a huge fan of the 55/94 or 96/97 uniforms, it's the white pants as well as the darker red/maroon. I vastly prefer the gold pants, especially since the team is named after the gold rush.

Silver helmets + 1994 Throwbacks = SCREAMS GOLD RUSH

Just go to 1962 Uniform instead of mix and match

I see where the miscommunication is now

You mistakingly took dr bill walsh's post to mean he was talking about the throwbacks we wore during the '94 season as the unis that always lost to the packers. he wasn't, he was referring to the '96 ones with the white pants. So not only was i correct, but i also figured out your mistake which you couldn't. you're welcome.

Technically, the only time we ever wore the 1994 throwbacks against the Packers (in 2021) we also lost to them…left too much time on the clock and
they kicked a GWFG

That game sucked, but I really liked how their season ended that year

Im just noticing that teams like the patriots, commanders, rams, etc dont have numbers anywhere on the shoulders. I think the niners should do that too

Those are TV numbers. They were designed to make it easier to see players numbers on older non-HD TVs.

We used to wear them on the shoulder sleeve

as opposed to the top of the shoulder like they are now.
