I have a friend who works for the 49ers and she said they pitched the idea to the players of replacing the red with pink in their uniforms for their last Oct. Game (Breast Cancer Awareness Month). I guess they all really liked how it looked an got on board. So this is what their uni will look like vs. the Browns.

It's pretty "loud", but for just a game it'll be fun! And, we better stick it to the browns in 'em! Hope we can all support it for a game!

Thats a LIE!!! say it aint so...

No way.

I wouldnt doubt it....I bet Goddel will force a team to do this, to see how it goes....IMO the NFL should only spend one week doing this, not all month....its a bit much, and it is only making money for companies that make these rediculous sportswear and its advertisers.

But why call them cookie cutter??? There's a fair bit of photoshop that went into those. They're unique!

Texas9erFan, good luck dealing with an epic backlash from about 90% of the Niners fanbase if those hideous all gold duds are ever adopted. It would be 10x worse than the backlash for the infamous "One-Day Helmet" in 1991:

Like someone said 49ers = classic franchise not the Tards, Jags or Hags

Just what I heard....

I think it's great! Shows we've got a bunch of REAL men on our team comfortable enough with their masculinity to help support a cause bigger than they are - I hope everything doesn't be like the people who really annoyingly call every set up "gay" on this forum and is secure enough to get behind it like our player!

I for one am very proud of our guys if it happens. Great Public Relations move.
wont happen lol

NFL barely allows the little amount of pink thats in the game. Authorized the pink captain patches this year i believe. No way will they allow whole jerseys, just wont happen

What breast cancer awareness month in the NFL is really about is money. The NFL realizes an increasingly sizable portion of its fans are female and are marketing to them. I'll bet the NFL makes a lot more money than it donates with this yearly campaign. I lost my Mom to cancer in 2005 so my opinion is not biased. Below it states that a portion of proceeds are going to charities. What percentage I ask?

Quote:

Last year, the NFL and its players donated more than $1 million to the American Cancer Society (ACS) as a result of the 2010 A Crucial Catch campaign, with the majority of the donation coming from the sale of pink NFL Auction items. Special pink merchandise will be available at www.NFLShop.com, in stadium retail stores, at Dick's, Hatworld and Lids, with a portion of proceeds going to breast cancer charities.

People who dont realize this are naive... The breast cancer awareness month is a big money making PR move for businesses and little more.

Yeah it generates money for breast cancer but corporations are not jumping on the bandwagon to "save the tatas" they are using it to make money, simple as that. Go ahead and say I'm insensitive but the proof is EVERYWHERE
