Lol. 7 posts. Looks like Paraag has a few family members or too much time on his hands while he's "working" on 4949.

please don't accuse me of being someone else. I gave my opinion. you and other people disagreed with it which is fine. but don't accuse me of being someone else. that's just not right. I have a right t my opinion and you have the right to disagree with it.
Based on articles referenced in this thread, I can't see why anyone would want to come here as long paraag is part of the F.O and that isn't just in working the cap numbers . He obviously has a lot more power than that. If he stays, and I see no reason why he wouldn't, I just cannot imagine us getting a HC and GM who will succeed here. Just as an observer, after reading all the comments on paraag and what he does exactly I would say we get no better, regardless of who we nominate for GM and HC.

Then what you want is just too much, and I have to believe that you are, in fact, Paraag Marathe. There's no way on earth that Chip or Baalke would EVER come out and admit that, and it's pretty naive to actually expect that high of proof before you start to believe credible sources.

This is why I don't really like discussing and providing counter view points, because then people always accuse me of being a corporate shill. Lol. I'm not. I just don't believe the news.

Also if I was Paraag, I'd be sitting in on interviews right now apparently instead of being bored at work browsing WZ.

FAKE NEWS! J/K
How do you come to a conclusion on what to believe if not for the media?

Maybe Jed ask him to be in the meeting room to be his eyes and ears of what's happening from week to week with the team. Or the guy just wants to learn a little more of football and the players he's working the salary cap for.

People are turning him into someone sinister.

I know man. its ridiculous. I think its because he's indian or of indian heritage. I'm serious when I'm saying that. Indians typically don't play football (well in college and professionally) so when people hear that he's in meetings they seem have a judgement. just my opinion.

Are you sure he's not Islamic Pakistanis.... should do a thorough background check.

Get the f**k out of here with that rasict garbage! I could careless if he's white, red, black, yellow...he's EVP of football ops and has a ton of say in things he's not knowledgeable in like football.

It has nothing to do with that for me. The 49ers FO has been a disaster for most of the past 15 years and Marathe is the one constant in that FO mess. It is time for a change ion football operations. Time to clean house.

lol, I don't give a damn if he's Indian, Irish or Peruvian. If his name was John Smith and coaches were constantly having the same issues with him being overly involved, if the team struggled as much during the time period he was ascending in the organization, it would still be just as much of an issue. Stop trying to interject race where it doesn't belong.

One of the chief sources of Harbaugh's conflict with the 49ers brass cited was with Marathe.

Marathe active game involvement is something that has been discussed in a limited manner, but has picked up a bit of steam more recently. Play calling and other football decisions – normally reserved the coaching staff – was a point of escalating tension under Nolan, Singletary and finally Jim Harbaugh's coaching tenure. Marathe – an analytics guru and numbers cruncher – often presented mid-game suggestions for Harbaugh to go for it on fourth down, or go for two instead of kicking an extra point. At certain points, Marathe was even given a chair in the coaches booth and put in charge of replays and determining whether or not to suggest challenging questionable calls.

Marathe's active game day role underscores one of the primary criticisms leveled at Jed York: that he and his fellow suits in the owners suite meddle too much with football decisions, and that has contributed to one of the most stunning collapses of a successful sports franchise. It also highlights the growing chasm between football strategists who rely on the growing body of analytics and statistics available versus the more old school types who remain wary of using newfangled algorithms to coach football.

Harbaugh also has a strained relationship with team president Paraag Marathe, according to the website's sources.

Why would the head coach have a strained relationship with the gap guru and chief negotiator, unless that person was overstepping their bounds and getting all up in the coach's business?

Not all employees work the way they are comfortable when the boss is in the room all the time. Either way, he's sitting in the room, absorbing things and still making bad football decisions.

1. Owner: Jed's job is to hire a PFO (Football Ops guy)
2. PFO: Paraag's job is to hire a GM and to communicate with GM about personnel and money...along with dealing with all other Operations that are out of the scope of the GM.
3. GM: His job is to manage his scouts and personnel and communicate with the head coach to fine tune things pertaining to personnel.
4. HC: His job is to manage his assistant coaches, game plan, and develop players.

#2 moving down to hang with #4 confuses roles and expectations. #4 moving up to #2 makes things messy. A good culture is all of those staying within their roles.

#1 can do whatever the f**k he wants because he's the owner. So, if all things football appear messy and the entire league thinks this team is dysfunctional, then the first place to go to when things are THIS bad is #2 simply because you can't fire the owner.

Correct - #1 needs to tell #2 just be #2. So Jed probably approves of it. He is a moron.
Also with Glazer retracting some of his comments about how Baalke was undermining Chip, makes you wonder who were these other people making that claim, who stands to benefit from tossing all the blame possible on a guy already out the door....

"Wanna clarify, Chip never told me Trent undercut him. I did, however, hear it from several others. Chip told me he wants to coach in NFL & would even take an OC job"

Paraag doesn't know jack s**t about football, and I never argued that he did.

I already said that I highly disagree with him and Jed interviewing head coaches because they have no business doing that. No idea about the X's and O's, or how to get a staff together that knows about football.

My question is, how much involvement did he really have with Baalke, McCloughan, and other GMs? How much involvement did he have with head coaches?

Because the local media overblows the stories, and wants to make scapegoats all the time just because we're losing football games for one reason or another. You see Kawakami always trying to stir up s**t.

The point is, I'm always a firm believer that you need talent in the NFL, and we haven't been drafting well or getting the right head coaches besides Harbaugh, who we ran out. I disagreed with Jed & Trent on that too. If Paraag was involved in that, then f**k him too. But other than that, what involvement has this guy really had in sinking this team?

He hasn't made any draft selections. He hasn't made a scheme for the talent on the field. The most I've heard about this guy is writing some "field guide", making some reports about when to go for it on 4th down, or advising the coaching staff on challenges? So what? None of these things are the driving factor for why we SUCK.

Of course he does, he's the President of Football Operations for f**ks sake.

Everyone and their momma, all races of 49ers fans, know how f**ked up this front office is at handling Football Related Decisions. Everyone is pissed off at Jed.

Guess what folks, Jed can't get fired so why aren't people more upset at Martha keeping a job as the President of Football Operations with an organization that has been a joke in this aspect?

You can't be mad at the head coach because they have been fired.
You can't be mad at the GM because he has been fired.

How does Martha keep going under the Radar. He is the top person who is accountable for all of this s**t mess. He is the one approving all decisions.
