He's beyond the shadows.
This dude needs to get OUT of the interview room and get to signing these guys stat.

Jeremy Kerley - Must-sign. Currently on-pace for 672 yards which is stellar from the slot (Zebra & Eagle/E)WR position and is our #1 target on 3rd downs. Given we run 3-WR sets over 80% of the time, Kerley will continue to be a big part of this offense. In on 76% of the offensive snaps.
Gerald Hodges - #3 on the team in tackles (79) despite only being in on 50.28% of the defensive snap counts. Has 3 sacks (2nd), 3 TFL, 2 INT's, 1 FF and 1 Recovery. Plays with passion and seems to have gotten more sound with each game in this scheme as the season's progressed.
Andrew Tiller - Would easily be a starter in a power scheme and had great chemistry with Brown on the right side of the OL.
Glenn Dorsey - While only playing in 33% of the defensive snaps, you could instantly see higher quality play when he's in there compared to Mike Purcell and an injured Quinton Dial. We need a veteran presence as insurance.
Chris Jones - Really nice late addition who has now played both end positions and is now getting many snaps at NT. Solid depth with some upside.
Nick Bellore - He's #52 or #53 on your roster for ST purposes but now has some added experience at ILB in this defense.
Rod Streater - Rarely got to start but when he did, he performed. Only used on 22% of the snaps. He's a bigger body compared to Quinton Patton (we saw how that helped on the TD). I'd like to see him compete with the other two big-bodied ZWR's on the roster in DeAndre Smelter and Eric Rogers.
This next one is entirely on Paraag/Jed

Agree with the Top 3. Bring back Kerley, Hodges, and Tiller.

Kerley was easily our best WR this year and steady as a returner. Hodges was leagues better than Bellore than Wilhoite. Bring him back and let him compete with Armstrong again.

Tiller is our best guard. For the life of me, I can't understand why he got benched mid-season. He's a RFA iirc, so chances are decent he'll be back at least one more year. With Tiller, Brown, and Garnett on the line, switch back to power scheme and play to the strength of the o-line.

Dorsey is on the wrong side of the 30 and injury prone. For that reason, I'd let him walk if we can land a good replacement in FA. There's a number of good NTs available this year. Brandon Williams, Dontari Poe, Bennie Logan, Johnathan Hankins. Grab one of these guys and draft a nose as well.

Chris Jones was a nice surprise considering we got him off the scrapheap. Bring him to TC and see if he can make the roster.

Bellore is a quality ST player. Should never be asked to be an every down linebacker. Bring him back on a minimum deal, see if he can make the roster. I'd like to see more talent at ILB to get him off the roster.

Streater made some plays. Nice size/speed combo. Again, bring him to TC and see if he can make the roster. Another guy that I'd like to see phased out by adding more talent to the WR crew.

Yup yup. No doubt you go HARD after Poe or Williams for NT. I'd still sign him b/c, well, let's the face...we've been the most injured team since 2013 and with our luck...yeah. LOL

Agreed on all fronts. This is what this ahole should be working on...not interviewing GM's and HC's like he knows anything.

Another thing to consider is, do we stay in a 3-4? The new GM and HC might be 4-3 guys. You never know.

I'm fine bringing back almost everyone and giving them a chance to compete. But I'm also willing to draft, sign FAs and hold open auditions to add guys for TC. The team needs a lot of energy and quick talent evaluators to reshape the roster for a new coach. Most teams aren't really that far away from a turn around once a great HC/GM are hired and I see the niners as being in good shape on the lines. But like KC has done, they need to draft into some of those strengths. It seems that KC drafts LBs and DL almost every year. One of those guys goes down and they plug in a C Jones. Will one of their second year guys be able to replace Johnson? Maybe. When I look at Bellore and compare him to KC's backups I have no idea who is better, but KC's guys are surrounded by better overall depth with elite players still on the roster.

Really hope we go back to a 4-3. One thing this team should always have: WCO philosophy (zone blocking) and a 4-3 D.

We switched to a 3-4 because we found a coach in Nolan who knew what to do with our speed at LB. We need to switch back to 4-3 because we need to know what to do with our size and talent at DL.

Let Bow come back to see if he can play MLB, Ray-ray play weakside and Brooks play strong side. Let Lynch try and battle for a roster spot on the DL.

Good points. You see a lot of successful teams do that, drafting into their strengths. Packers, Steelers, Patriots, Chiefs...etc.. Every year they target specific position groups they value more than others and get a steady pipeline of talent coming through.

Agree, WCO should always be a staple here. I'm not married to a 3-4 and I prefer the scheme, but wouldn't blink at switching to a 4-3 if it made us better.

Seems like all these team have stability at QB and have good OLs so they can concentrate on BPA at those positions you speak of. Once your OL is good it doesn't take many draft picks to keep it going. Guess that's true of any group to some extent. I would like to see the niners bring in elite, young FAs on defense and then try to draft a FQB and WRs. I don't see any FA QBs or WRs who thrill me or who would want to join the niners over other teams. That could change with the GM/HC selections.

Having Marathe looking over the new GM/HCs shoulders really worries me and I believe it will turn off many of the top candidates.

Agree totally! The WCO should be brought back and reinstalled as the 9ers true identity, with a young coach who can add his own brand/tweaks.

As for 3/4 or 4/3...I prefer the defense be flexible enough to use both effectively. I'd really like to see the niners sign or draft a true NT who can penetrate and dominate the middle. We saw a jump in play when Dorsey came in for Purcell and it helped against the run. So a stronger version of Purcell being added, and keeping the Oregon bookends, along with Dial and a healthy Williams...would be a very powerful DL...either 3/4 or 4/3. Oh...forgot Blair as well for the 4/3.

"Is Paraag considered an owner now?"
