PM is going to do an "in yo face" to all of you guys.

He is "The One".

Paraag sees this:

Too many levels above everyone.

Stats are for losers like Paraag ... meaningless after the game and don't matter during it.

Won't find me with any....
As long as Paraag isn't pulling the trigger I at least think he's qualified to conduct an interview. We don't have a GM right now so who do you want to do it? I'm fine with him gathering as much info as possible on both coach/GM, hopefully we pick the most qualified GM, and with that his coach should be packaged in.

The problem is not the use of analytics, it is the elevation of analytics to a control. As a tool stats are useful and interesting, even fun: but when all of us begin to have difficulties is using PFF or other stats as a stand alone basis for making decisions. Player X is better than player Y because PFF says so. But then we can talk about the variable they analyze versus the infinite number of factors available.

I recall an interview with a successful scout who was asked why he found such quality players, and he said because I know who the quality college coaches are. Simple things. Now more and more players are seriously preparing for the combine and blowing up the numbers historically...but what of the natural player who doesn't bother but is just a monster? So many things to consider for context.

Paraag will proxy Jed to pull the trigger.
He should do something useful and go hire vrabel for dc

I am very pro-analytics but I am anti almost everything the 49ers have done since 2013 and all of the ongoing dysfunction.

Seriously...or work on some contracts for our own players before we lose them.

Marathe should not be hiring assistance to force on a coach or a coach to force on a GM or signing players to force on all of them. The GM should pick the coach, they can then hire assistants and coordinators and collaborate on personnel. Jed and Marathe should not be making decisions on any of these things other than a GM.
What a sack of s**t, totally mailing it in

Lol. I started this thread, tongue in cheek, in 2010 and 7 years later, here we are.

This dude, along with BFF Jed, is listening to prospective GMs and HCs trying to sell their football experience to HIM.

Comforting, isnt it?

Makes me sick thinking about those two interviewing football guys.

Two kids in over their heads.
