It really is. All I can say that all "leaked" information is now suspect with Baalke being recently exposed as the leaker. The Gase hiring debacle is prime example; notice it was leaked that everyone BUT Baalke was responsible for hiring Tomsula over Gase and it turned out he was the one. It makes me think that nearly all leaks even current stuff in terms of "rumors" about the 49ers are coming from (current) and came from him. So am I reluctant about listening to anyone else talk about "reports" from "NFL sources" could easily mean Baalke telling someone who tells someone else. So I'll wait for someone to go on the record like Gase did and actually clear things up for me before I point fingers. Even Maiocco reported and repeated the leaked version of events. Now we know why. We'll see if Paraag continues to be the boogeyman everyone says he is.
Trent is very clever. He must have ruled with an iron fist. Of course Trent hired everybody though! That was his job. But I know you are being cheeky here.

This dude should be working for Google not the Niners
Ask Paraag what he knows about toughness and tolerance of physical pain.

The hate for Paraag is funny. He is not a football guy and it will be in the best interest of the team to keep him away from football decisions. That being said it is easy to understand why the Yorks value so much. What were the two biggest challenges facing the team when transitioned from Eddie D to John and Denise? One was the catastrophic salary cap position which led to a wholesale roster purge. Since PM took over management of cap our position has been exemplary. Second was the need for a new stadium which they have built and he played a role. Paraag is not a football guy but he is a valuable asset to the business of the 49ers and coinciding with his time with the team business has been very good.

He saves his employers money in a biz where it's nearly impossible to lose money. Bad contracts are bad. No contracts are also bad

Yes he did help build the stadium.

This Sleaze Bag has been part of everything wrong with this team since he's been here...and now he's going to have the biggest influence on who the GM and HC are outside of the family....

- Marathe's ascension coincided with the departure of Walsh and director of football operations John McVay

He compared the salary cap to a portfolio, not the team.

He was talking about managing the cap.
I had to look this up.

meritocracy
ˌmɛrɪˈtɒkrəsi/
noun

government or the holding of power by people selected according to merit.
"progress towards meritocracy was slow"

a society governed by people selected according to merit.
plural noun: meritocracies
"Britain is a meritocracy, and everyone with skill and imagination may aspire to reach the highest level"

a ruling or influential class of educated or able people.
"the relentless advance of the meritocracy"

I wonder if he has applied this metric to his bosses?

Eddie D said his biggest mistake was first coming in and trying to run the team like a business and talking about the team publicly like it was a business. Jed/Paraag/Al/Brian all run this team in that same fashion --- like a business. They use the football business to make more business (stadium = events/PSL's).

They talk of class, family, championship environment, culture, tradition but demonstrate none of that. THAT is the point.

The Yorks, like Steve Young noted, from Denise to John to Jed, run this franchise like a business, first and foremost. There is a reason there are no football guys in the highest of positions but instead, 4 businessmen.
