They talk of class, family, championship environment, culture, tradition but demonstrate none of that. THAT is the point.

The Yorks, like Steve Young noted, from Denise to John to Jed, run this franchise like a business, first and foremost. There is a reason there are no football guys in the highest of positions but instead, 4 businessmen.
+1

Well Said...
Can we combine this thread and the Jed thread into a Front Office thread?

From the outcomes of the recent GM hires, it appears no well qualified GM wants nothing to do with the 49ers and no well established coach wants anything to do with us.

Paraage and Jed are the Al Davis of this era. Only way we will have success is if we hit on an unproven commodity.

Odds are not in our favor.

Please keep them separate. A few of these threads like this one have links that are going to get lost in a mass of one location.
Maybe it's my initial reaction but I feel like the Lynch hire is just a front to have Paarag be the GM behind closed doors. If they keep Gamble, what really changes than Lynch being the media spokesman for the team? I hope I am wrong and just overreacting.

9 highly highly qualified candidates...goes with a man with zero experience. We all know Gamble is a yes-man too and easily controlled. I'd say this is a big W for Paraag. Jed/Paraag were in prime position to reshape the FO how they liked. And they did just that.

Yes I think Lynch hire was so GM would be as weak as possible. A more experienced GM would want more control.

This is basically a knee jerk reaction about Baalke...
If this dude tries to pull anything about suggesting who to draft or anything related to football that is not simply submitting raw stats to the football staff, then I hope Lynch spears him.

Henry got hit harder than the fall he took outta that truck
Maybe Lynch will actually be good with him. Meaning, he will know how to buffer his curiosity on the football side etc. I dont deny Lynch has people skills and stuff like that so who knows. Lynch may also pick his brain about the contract side. I know im being an optimist, but what choice do i have? If every one hits it off, realizes it will be a bumpy ride... all we have to deal with is the usual negative media... hahaaha

Marathe is his boss and I am sure he is aware of that fact.
I thought the emphasis this year was that everyone was going to get along. They are not goign to hire anyone who is going to clash with the head of Football Operations. This is Marathe's vision and I wish him well. Hopefully we will be signing his praises within the next few years.

Well paraag is really good at making affordable contracts for our owners. He's so good at it we haven't been able to sign anyone for years.
