Actually this whole thread is terrific if you read through it...about as much info as you can get about the Smoking Man...but I'll let you come to your own conclusions.
Me? I'm just skeptical that the money ball mentality (of which he was hired for; finances) and title/power he's been entrusted with puts him in a position of influence with York backings...even on the football side...which has certainly caused some raised eyebrows and abrasion.

Paraag has a lot of power. He's cozy with the Yorks and has lots of influence so even though he might not have a powerful title, people inside the organization probably know better then to question him or cross him.

Heard the man on maiocco podcast
Informative. Seems likeable. Knowing his place. Commited to the niners. Longtime fan. Talked about Lynch transforming the vibe and the culture in the building two weeks in the job and i believe him...
And most of all : hired in the first place by bill walsh
For me thats just enough. I dont need to know anything else about the guy and certainly CERTAINLY not all the bullsh*t you read in articles made by journalists who have their unknown sources. The same sources that are once in a while correct but give you so much sh*t to eat the rest of the time. Not reliable. Or maybe there is not so much informed sources. They need to feed their followers on twitter with informations that are in fact suggestions at best...
for Lynch : same credentials. Bill Walsh thought this QB could transform in one year to a future hall of fame safety. Come on man. No way... BW the wizard at his best as usual. That wont make him a great GM for sure but you know the guy's special. He'll have more than the benefit of the doubt from me...

It was neat to actually get to know him a little listening to they interview.
Thought it was interesting that Walsh hired him. I think as some say he does have alot of influence but that can be good and bad.he seems like a good guy. Just a resource with a ton of info.

The one thing they do have in common? Don't know anything for sure and can only line the dots together based on what they know .... Let's talk about Maiocco most recent article - because for every speculative crap article about the supposed, and you did admit, was your estimation (and all of those in the thread, not even proven one bit) it was "moneyball".

You can't both ask me to believe the "we think" articles without giving consideration to interviews and solid reporting. Lynch already cleared that up and STILL it's not enough. It's time to bury the boogey man.
But just in case we've forgotten, here's some more:
http://sfo.247sports.com/Bolt/John-Lynch-on-if-theres-any-concerns-regarding-Paraag-Marathe-51030824
True...those weren't my articles posted though...those were for reference for a another poster showing articles on Paraag weren't all from TK (and given his hidden nature, this is about as good as you're going to get for us outside the building). In fact, over the 16 years, there's quite a few about the guy given how far in the shadows he's been and outside of his excellent status with cap management, a lot are about him NOT staying in his lane (connecting-the-dots pieces; fair or not). It's not like we're going to get some video evidence of Bill Walsh telling him to eff off and get out of the draft room. So where's there's smoke, maybe there "was" some fire. It was interesting how he and Jed stayed in their lane but had to mend their relationship with Kaepernick? By communicating better? And then giving him $1M for his 'cause.' LOL. I thought it was Baalke and he hating on one another...maybe that was only Anthony Davis (and who doesn't hate THAT guy?).
But you don't have $105M in cap space if you aren't rocking some serious money ball (along with some serious roster turnover TBF too).
I do have to say that I did learn that the Quality Control staff are analytics guys too.
Looking forward to free agency...Jed's been VERY quiet. Maybe everyone is in the right lanes now going forward.

Jed and Paraage have a lot to prove. I'm going to be skeptical of an owner and VP who have been a part of an embarrassment of a franchise.

So he said he never got to go to candlestick because they couldn't afford it. His dad was an engineer or something, they owned a round table pizza,...come on man.

Yes sir! Love the ShanaLynch hires...staying in their lanes. Let's hope it all lasts. I'm glad to hear everyone is enjoying this honeymoon period.

um, I thought it was slick of him to try to point that out... when from the reports back then, and someone correct me if I'm wrong, Paraag and his analyics is what forced Bill Walsh out.
He didn't agree with them being used for the draft. So they say that Bill brought over Bain.. but I think it was actually Terry Donahue that pushed for it..
I know Donahue was hand picked by Walsh... but I'm just going off what I remember reading.
so if anyone else remembers Walsh feeling left out to analytics link me to the article again... I'm searching myself.

Marathe and his computer shot down Walsh and McVay's trade proposals during the 2003 draft. This didn't sit well with either man, who had built the 49ers' success partly on their impulses.
Contacted recently, Walsh didn't want to comment on the team's direction.
"Can a computer help determine who you pick on draft day?" Walsh asked. "I don't know, maybe it can."

yeah I JUST found it too... here's another small part from the article, including your part.
In his projects, Marathe created graphs and charts that impressed York. After working with the 49ers for 18 months, Marathe befriended Jed York, John's eldest son. Seemingly, as the 23-year-old Jed became more visible at the 49ers' headquarters, eventually joining high-level meetings, so did Marathe.
Marathe's ascension coincided with the departure of Walsh and director of football operations John McVay, which could have been more than a coincidence. Privately, neither liked the statistical approach Donahue espoused.
Donahue also declined to comment.
As Walsh's influence faded, Donahue's system, which he kept secret for the most part, took root. Donahue and York allowed Marathe to hire interns to watch film and provide the scouting department with new statistics on players.
