That position doesn't interview GMs and HCs and is not called the VPFO. He is one of the larger figures in the organization who was responsible for our s**t show.

Dramatic much? This is a term coined by Kawakami. There was never anything "shadowy" about his role; it was clear from the beginning what he was hired to do and why. Does he share responsibility for this organization's performance? Of course. I don't think that's what being said. What's being said is that his role was not shadowy or some dramatic effect where he's this Boogey man with some sort of superpower. That stuff is for click-throughs.

His role wasn't defined. Ralph Barbeiri asked 49ers execs a number of times about his role and did not get a direct answer. That's when the shadiness began. Harbaugh was the one who clarified Marathe's role by taking him out of football things such as the booth.

THEN, for some reason, his title changed to VPFO. That does not mean strictly an analytics guy. Now, he played a key role in the hiring process which directly relates to his actual title of VPFO.

Only a few seem to believe his job was ONLY to help with contracts and analytics while his actions and title exemplifies otherwise.

Is that supposed to mean something?

He is now the EXECUTIVE VP of Football Ops. He and Jed picked their head coach and then picked thrir GM, a guy with no front office experience.
This os Marathe and Jed's team, this is thrir vision and I hope we are singing their praises in a few years.

Here's something to consider:

Football execs don't owe ANYONE answers on what they do. They really don't. It's like if I asked you how much money you made, unless I'm your boss or you're looking for another job at my firm, you have no obligation to tell me. I can call you shady but at the end of the day, it's none of my business.

Enjoy the game.... or not.

No they do not which makes the speculation that he only works on contracts all the more puzzling.

Rich folks have more / bigger bills to pay, plus his pops couldn't afford a day off (gotta keep the biz running).... imagine all those unsold pizzas on the weekends (college / NFL).

Plus, you know.....Indians share a common trait with Jews...

both like to style their heads with cloth #WhatIsKippah #WhatIsTurban...

Props to Paraag for getting what appears to be a front loaded deal on Garcon. Dude is the best at contracts.

Now just stay out of all other things football please.

Smart AF. With the new regime we're all good and those thoughts can be buried for good.

Poor guy's head must be spinning. 5 million for a FB 16 million for a wr 10 million for a backup qb. Glad his money ball is not part of of what we are seeing today.

Agreed. Dude is being put to work now. Keep front loading, homeboy.
Juice's contract:

Yet another win for Paraag. When this guy stays in his lane, he's a tremendous asset. He's going to help significantly get us through this rebuild without ever getting ourselves in cap hell.

No question. He's the best.
Hopefully he stays on the contract side of football operations because this guy is a beast at what he does best.

Paraag paints by numbers.

If you paint a starry night, you keep frank gore.

I know that makes no sense. Point is, sometimes you look past numbers and keep whats special. Paraag cant do that.
