Can we just admire how this guy save us from being CAP Hell during Baalke Era Days. Now I love how he is hyping up the Free Agents! If you fit the scheme, well pay you! Let's goooooooo!
Pretty sure his impact dates back to the Erickson days when the Niners were in true cap hell, ironically helping the team out of the mess created by the guy that hired him, Terry Donahue.
I think Marathe has been with the 49ers for quite a bit, he was quote on quote John York's guy, and people hated it, but the guy is smart, and deserves credit.
And man Donahue was a horrible GM. But it dates back(cap hell wise) to before Erickson's days, to Carmen Policy days, we had some bad contracts in the late 90s, early 2000s. We needed to restructure deals, which is not a good thing to do, look at the Steelers, they're hurting cap wise every year cause of this.
