Not defending Baalke. But I think there have been times in the past where Paraag didn't /just/ swim in the contract lane. When he stays there, he's a noticeable competitive advantage.

"We wanted to make sure we had good signaling, that we had Jimmy's (contract) done going into free agency. Absolutely, we wanted to build momentum."

Can we just admire how this guy save us from being CAP Hell during Baalke Era Days. Now I love how he is hyping up the Free Agents! If you fit the scheme, well pay you! Let's goooooooo!

Brick by brick! Go 49ers

Exquisite vid. Thx

Exquisite. I like that from you paso.
Paraag with another great Contract. love it,,, how many teams are in salary cap hell, and we have our QB signed long term and still have plenty of space. now lets make a couple more smart moves.

Dude is probably the best in the league at his job. This whole time fans thought he was some snake. Turns out it was just s**tty coaches and GMs that did us in.

And he was doing his best to get us outs for all the s**tty players they wanted to extend/sign.

Also a local guy, grew up a Niner fan, Stanford grad. I'm glad he's still on board.

I don't know which way to go on this guy. I think he tries to get into Ops too much. True or false? I don't know. I don't like that he probably kick Frank out the door. I think that was just plain stupid

I don't think you have evidence that any of that is true

I just like the fact that he's always looking for ways to make sure the player doesn't get a bad deal, while at the same time it benefits the organization plus job security. Smart man. Very intelligent!
Does every team in the league have a "contract guy"?

Yeah, but none as good as Paraag. The Kaepernick deal ought to have hurt us a lot, he was touted as a top 10 QB, that contract was a work of art.
Baalke controlled the narrative around this team, so he painted Paraag as the villain. Thankfully he survived that era.

Played a role in driving out Bill Walsh and McVay. He's a Snake.
