Marathe can analyze the statistical chances of a play working. He can analyze the chances of a style of play succeeding, the success-probability factor of a QB, and so on.
This makes him a better HC than Singletary.
And he can do John York's taxes in the off-season and perhaps "loosen up" Denise with secret Far Eastern herbs.
Expect him to be the new HC. It could only be better.

York is considering Marathe to be the team’s next general manager, which has alienated professional team managers and coaches from considering the team, according to sources. Recruiting new coaches will also impact the team’s ability to field a winning team as few players will want to join the unstable 49ers franchise."
San Francisco Sentinel Article
I'd say 70/30 that Paraag becomes the GM.
Total BS. What is the Sentinel? Not even worth debunking.

A good HC like Bellachick could take off with this type of information.
I think Jed's just trying to clear up and define the roles a little better in gearing for a GM position new hire.

With all the noise about hiring experienced "football people", don't forget that Paraag is a key player in the process. Mr. Inexperience is not mentioned as a person Jed is consulting, but he certainly is tight with Jed and John and is certainly involved as a key player.
As far as hiring a GM, this gives a big boost to Baalke, who already has a working relationship with Paraag. Ralph should get Jed on KNBR and ask him whether Paraag will report to the new GM or still directly to Jed/John. Paraag is not going to want to have a GM who cuts Paraag out, and candidates for GM are going to be wary about Paraag having the owners' ears, no matter who he technically reports to. We are not going to get a heavyweight GM who has total control.
As far as hiring a HC, I believe Paraag's statistics proved that the best way to go is to hire an up and coming co-ordinator (NoWin), not a proven NFL HC. Since Jed has noticed that the offense needs particular help, odds are we will hire an offensive OC. So, forget experienced HC's like Gruden and Billick; forget Harbaugh or other college HC's. Look at offensive OC's who are not in a position to demand complete control. And, an offensive OC might be willing to put up with the dysfunctional organization -- Yorks and Paraag in particular -- for the HC job.
So much for putting "football people"in charge.

I think Paraag is a scapegoat a lot of the times... I think he was right when he said if he had a "different name" people wouldn't talk about him so much.

Time to clean up this dump.
Paraag, there's the door. Use it.
Taking out the trash means the people upstairs too.

I disagree. Paraag is one of the best Business men in the NFL right now. He's absolutely GREAT with contract agreements with players.
