He built them a stadium and they basically told him to scram. I dont think its at all a coincidence that the Harbaugh rumors began shortly after he left. Yu was a known supporter of Harbaugh and unlike York or Marathe, a guy who was well professionally accomplished and had an idea of what it took to sustain success.

where did you get this info from?

everything i read around that time was that Yu did what he was brought into to do. Yu had nothing to do with actual football operations.
WTF is a Paraag

Yu is still a 5% owner, no?

No but he was the only guy in the front office to actually have had a established track record of success prior to joining the franchise.

Meanwhile Jed basically got the team as a college graduation gift and Marathe was brought into the fold because his many diagrams and analytics data impressed John York.

He is probably as much a "football" guy as Paraag is.

Pretty sure J-Lo is a 5% owner of the Miami Dolphins too. Over the past year and half, Yu has made it clear where he stands.

Gideon Yu‏@gideonyu

The fact that Jim Harbaugh always took the high road just further proves that he's a winner and a class act.

You'll never convince some people it seems. They want to see CIA classified documents to form any logical connections.

The difference is that Yu has had success everywhere he's gone, Marathe has been a cornerstone of one of the worst era's of 49ers football.

I think that's misleading for fans who take everything they say as gospel.

+1
I respect their journalistic skills, but I also don't see why people take this as gospel.

Football is entertainment to fans. The product on the field is what generates revenue.
Sports columnists create narratives about an entertainment product.
Narratives have nothing to do the product on the field. A heartfelt story on the start QB and some drama in HQ doesn't catch touchdown passes or stuff the RB. But, it does generate readership and $$$.
The NFL needs the media to get attention and the media does it for the increased audience. It's a win-win for both.
People who believe everything in the media are getting played just as much as they think Jed loyalists are.

Baalke better watch his back, the rat is coming for him!

Its really not that hard to connect the dots to what happened to result in a highly successful coach getting bounced out of town and be replaced by a mediocrity.

Harbaugh was close with former 49ers president Gideon Yu, and was extremely unhappy when Jed York and Trent Baalke installed York loyalist Paraag Marathe in Yu's place when Yu stepped down in January 2014. Harbaugh reportedly has little time for Marathe, widely seen as York's right-hand man, and that dislike has exacerbated the existing issues between Harbaugh and York.

Harbaugh will end his 49ers tenure with a 44-19 overall record if the team wins their 2014 finale against the Arizona Cardinals Sunday. The 49ers reached the NFC Championship game in Harbaugh's first three seasons with the team, making it all the way to the 2012 Super Bowl, but failed to make the 2014 playoffs after a season filled with turmoil on and off the field.

I do know one thing - the organization has gone to the Super Bowl, been in the playoffs 4 straight years

3 years straight, with Harbaugh as HC and Yu as team president.

Marathe became team president in early 2014, Harbaugh is gone, the team has a mediocre head coach and suddenly its like this franchise is back in 2006 again.
